Yes, I have been reading all of the posts from folks that are tired of Winter / snow / ice!! (And if you found my recent post about plans for Mexico next Winter, that info is now under serious consideration! - planning is already underway!!)

We did the Calgary Stampede (fantastic!) and then 4 weeks in Alaska (outstanding)including a really great couple of days in Denali with the mountain in full, glorious view last summer! (2009)

BUT...it's now time to start the planning for the 2010 fun summer adventures to new places and things to do.

I'm thinking of a drive up the Mississippi river valley and then across Canada to New England with stops along the way for places of historical and current interest. Then back down the East Coast and Natchez Trace to Mississippi and then New Orleans.

I have a Request to those that have found great places along this sort of route - what are the 'not to miss' places?? I think I'll put pins in the map and then figure out a route for about 6 or 7 weeks to enjoy the RV life some more!! Thanks in advance!

Lots of travelling for us again this summer, most of it for shows.
Vancouver for a week, middle of April, Burns Lake first weekend in May and then Fort St John on the May long weekend. June is the crazy month. We are based in Prince George, Edmonton first weekend in June, home for the week then Nanaimo for the third weekend then Grande Prairie, Alberta for the next weekend. Only one show in July that is here in PG so we take the trailer to the show site for 3 days but only a 20 minute drive. First week in August is 8 days on Vancouver Island for the Campbell River and then the Courtenay show. That's just the business trips. Hope to get holiday trips to Jasper and Edmonton as well as any ovenighters we can get in and Barkerville for Labour Day weekend. Should be 45 to 50 nights this year. I am sooo tired of Winter. It's above freezing right now and I really really want to get out.
Cheers
Chris

Our plans are pretty fluid. We're going to open the season at our seasonal site in up-state NY, possibly head up to Mont Tremblant for a few days mid-June (depending upon blackflies), head down to the NH NASCAR race at the end of June and do some camping in NH on the way back. May head down to Lake George, out to Kinston, Quebec City (Iles D'Orleans), possibly another trip down to Myrtle Beach in the fall, might go to the fall NH NASCAR race.

We go places when the destination weather forecast is nice, otherwise we'll stay put at our seasonal site.

This will be our first summer with a TT and thus far we have lots of time off booked, but not too many trips planned. I think as long as we avoid the long weekends we can pretty much fly by the seat of our pants!

Our first trip will likely be something close to home, hopefully in Mid to late April if Mother Nature co-operates. Thinking of Haunted Lake (Alix, AB) or a similar small local place.

First real trip will be to Bow Valley (Kananaskis) the weekend after May Long. I camped there with my family last year and found it very kid friendly for my nephews and easy going in respect to our dogs.

The big trip is coming in late July - Derek and I are getting married (July 24th) in Leduc AB and will be camping at the Lions Campground around the wedding and then heading off on a short RV-moon. From 28th July to 3rd August we'll be camping in Kimberley BC for an annual camping trip with my family.

Looking forward to many other weekend trips with our friends throughout the summer! Our other summer passion is floating down the river in our blow up dinghy. We're hoping these can now be combined into floating/camping trips and avoid the need for a DD at the end of the day!!

Does anyone know how strict Leduc Lions Campground is in regards to dogs? My family all have dogs and we'll all be camping there. None of them are rowdy or poorly behaved, but they are all large-ish Labradors. The website states "Dogs at managers discretion". It is the only campground in Leduc, and since this is for our wedding we'd like to be sure that people aren't going to get turned away at the gate!!

Thanks

No winter blah's here, we've been camping all winter and loving it. In 2 weeks our trailer leaves its winter campsite. This summer we have an epic trek to Newfoundland planned with some close friends. It's going to be the trip of a lifetime and we are looking forward to it!

Why not call and ask? Have you booked the whole campground for your wedding or at least arranged to be all in one area of it? I have no idea how big it is.
