The driver seat is not working. Checked the fuse, it was blown. Changed it and it blew as soon as I connected the battery. I disconnected the seat, put in a new fuse --- poof again.
So,it is in the wiring. Traced it back and it is unbelievably awkward.
So, I took my 12 volt drill battery, put some clips on the wires to the seat, and it works just fine.
So, I went to get a second battery at SprawlMart. It is cheaper to buy a new drill than just a battery. Anyone want to buy a drill, no battery???

Yep, been that way for years. I now own 3 DeWalt 12V drills. I'll probably own a few more before I die. My daughter is a Lowes store manager and she says she CANNOT get any of the tool companies to listen or care.

Instead of trying to find the short, couldn't you just run a new 12 volt wire?

Your problem is you are buying the wrong battery/device.
First, my suggestion: Best solution would be to run a brand new wire from the seat to the fuse block, re-use the existing ground wire, but run a new positive wire, Cut the seat's wire a few inches from the fuse block and splice in there or if you can remove the connector and put a new connector on the new battery.. (Depends on if it's a single wire connector or a multi-pin job)
Now, option 2: Radio shack solution, Radio shack, and several auto parts stores. sell Llighter plugs, many with a cord already on them.. Just plug in when you need it.. I consider this to be the WORST choice however.
Option 3.. Jump start.
If you are a member of Costco or Sams I recommend you shop there
Get a jump start battery,, THis is an AGM (usually) battery that's got cables already attached, I charge mine by hooking to the house battery with the jump clips but they can charge other ways as well (They come with a 120vac charger)
use it instead.
SIDE BENEFIT
You pull into a park, you sit for a week and get ready to go to church. Get in the towed car and click... nothing Dead battery
You can use the jump pack for what it's designed for
I have.... many times.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

The coach battery is fine. Your solution,wa8yxm, is massive overkill. Just a little 12 volt battery and some duct tape solved the problem. When I get up North, coach will be on a level cement pad, high and dry and I'll have all my tools and will run a new wire to the fuse.
In the meantime, seat works just fine.
