long term it might be safer to just raise the door or lower the floor. One time when you're in a rush you'll forget to dump and.... ouch

Mine got out of sequence a couple times, causing the airbage to not inflate for travel, when I started the engine. I had to push and hold the "Rabbit" (travel) button to correct that. When you set the parking brake and turn the HWH system "on", it dumps the bags, even with engine still running. With engine running, if you release the brake, it is supposed to inflate them. I am wondering if you held in the "On" button while you released the brake, if you could "fool" the system into not inflating them.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest you call HWH and ask for their assistance.

Don
How big is the header?

I would (if was mine) bolt a steel plate(4" narrower) across the header and plane/cut 2 inches out of the header 8 foot wide, no need to go wider. JMHO.

Again, is there a way to move without any air in the bags. Mine seems to start inflating as soon as I start the engine. All I need is a couple of inches...

Read up. Same coach, 2 years newer.... My HWH levelers can and will dump the bags on command with the engine running.

Don...You're not going to hurt anything backing the coach in with the bags dumped. You need to find a way to fool the system or disconnect it electrically with a switch until you're out of the garage. Somewhere, a signal is being sent to air up the bags when you start the coach. Find that signal and block it temporarily. I'm sorry, I don't know enough about Freightliner chassis's to tell you how to do it.

Call this place, they are Winnebago specialists and I'm willing to bet they'll help you out. The owner does a lot of product testing of Winnebago products/chassis's.

Once you are lined up and about to enter the garage, dump the bags and take it real easy. You will be fine.

May be stupid question but here goes.....isn't the drive train connected to the frame and the "house portion" riding ON the frame? Wouldn't that cause bags only to affect the "house" portion and NOT the drive train? Just asking.......IMHO, of course

Talked to a sales person at Buddy Gregg and the had to modify the air suspension to stay deflated to clear a door. Our motorhome's air suspension dump valve only works when the ignition is off.

dad45 the house portion is attached to the frame rails which has the engine and transmission attached to it the drive shaft angle and clerances change when you change the ride height. Think of it as a RR box car then air bags then the "trucks" or wheel units that are on the rails.

You're right! It's a stupid question. But everybody gets one a day, so don't worry. The suspension connects the axles/wheels to the frame. The house is mounted to the frame. The drive train crosses the boundary as it connects the wheels to the engine/tranny which mount to the frame.

Looking for Free Wifi I noticed SSID " HRM_Police_Surveillance_Van_#2" Think it's safe to connect?
