I read some articles about the U.S. Army experiment with the use of Camels as beasts of burden. Apparently it began in 1855 , but although the Camels could carry much more cargo then either army mules or pack horses, travel further and faster and survive on desert flora, the experiment was deemed not to be successful.
Any Camels in the Arizona Desert ?
The question that needs asking...are there any of the descendants of these army Camels left roaming the trackless desert wastes ?

I read an article about that years ago. I think they've all been wiped out from hunting and predation. If a guy has a few months it could be a cool expedition to try and find out for sure.

In the beginning they were in AZ, NM and TX. There are none is AZ, NM I don't know, but there could still be some in TX. Hope this helps.

I won't swear to it... but, I seem to recall a television documentary a couple of years back that showed the descendent's of those camels still wandering the southwest desert areas including parts of AZ, NM and Nevada.. not to far from Las Vegas in the desert.
But as I said, I don't remember the details of the show..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.
