I recently purchased a piece of equipment that allows me to do streaming video movies thru my Netflix subscription. At home, I use a DSL connected wireless router to send the signal thru the equipment to my TV. It works very well.
I’m like most everyone else who uses camp ground Wi-Fi when traveling. So I am asking if anyone has used this streaming video set-up using a Wi-Fi connection. I’m headed out for a couple months road trip and think this would be a great thing to have along.

Not sure about the streaming, but we recently got an Apple TV and I plan on taking it in the camper with us, this summer...
We have about 150+ movies and TV episodes loaded, as well as all our music...
As for the streaming, it would really depend on the CG... I have stayed at a couple that have decent access, but most have not...
Interested to hear your results...

Your experience will be different everywhere. I stream HULU all the time here at home and on the road. Some CG's have been really good for video but others have been sucky and choppy.

Hi,
Most campgrounds won't have a lot of bandwidth. If you use more than your fair share your experience may be poor--and everyone else using the service may also suffer for that.

Just look up WIFI bad connections, and read the opinions of your fellow campers. Then understand that you'll be the guy causing all that grief.
If you really want to do this sort of thing, get a Hughes Net setup and pay for the bandwidth you need.

piano> The lack of Wi-Fi bandwidth is an issue that I had not considered. Even at 100 mbs it might be slow if there are alot of simultanious users and I doubt many campgrounds go to the expense of putting in a system that would give that speed. I suspect that it would be worse where a smaller CG just stuck a cheap wireless router in the window. There is a similar post about Wii and Netflix in this section of the forum. I get the feeling that the bandwidth issue is about to become another headache for campground owners.
muddypaws> Thanks for the info. I've not tried Hulu, but will experiment with it at home.
