FWIW - tried the site above. Nice, but -
The "overnight" info of 3 of the (CA) Wallys that I know well - is incorrect.
(Indicates you can't - but it's done regularly/currently)

I also found errors in that site, claiming that you could park overnight where it's illegal, and also claiming that it wasn't allowed where it is allowed.

On the other hand, just because RVers park overnight "regularly/currently" doesn't mean that they have the store's permission. As I mentioned in an earlier message, too many RVers think they can park overnight in any Walmart parking lot, so they just park. Sometimes they get away with it, & sometimes they don't. When they don't, it can get expensive.

I found one today in the stationary dept. Rand McNally with Wally World undertones is the best way to describe it. $5.79 plus tax. What a bargain!

I got one last year at WalMart that only had main roads on it. Yesterday at Big Lots I saw some for $4.00 that had all the roads.

You can go online at Walmart and they will be available for shipping in April 2010.

Thinking about the overnighting comments....we have overnighted in many, many Walmarts from the E/W and N/S cross country over the last several years. If we pull in and are the 1st or 2nd in lot we ask, if over 2 we don't because...well I don't know why....I guess we assume if we are asked to leave we will. We have NEVER been asked to leave. Even if you asked each time, most often it is not a manager at the customer service counter and just an average employee who most likely will be off duty by the time you are getting a ticket and your only defense at that time is "The employee told me I could". Even if we had to pay a fine, if we averaged it over the overnites spent in Walmarts it is still a cheap, fairly safe place to rest overnite.

Walmart's corporate policy regarding overnight RV parking is stated on their corporate website:

"While we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Walmart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV."

RVers should ask permission before parking, with no mention of exceptions.

I have had the 2010 copy for a couple months. Although I do use it, I find this Walmart Guide more useful. With the Google map it's easy to locate each one and to see what the parking lot looks like. Sometimes you can see RV's parked.

Don't assume, just be cause you see RVs in a parking lot, whether in person or in a satellite photo, that the store allows overnight RV parking. A lot of uninformed RVers think all Walmarts allow overnight RV parking and just park there without getting permission or asking the store if they allow it.
I've been parking my RVs at Walmarts since 1988 without asking permission to park there, and I'm not going to start now. I spend my money there, so I'm entitled to be there.

I haven't bought a Walmart Atlas in 8 years. I don't know of any new highways that weren't already there 8 years ago.

So what your saying is W-Mart will take you from one store to another. So it cost you $4 to get to the next free camp site. Now that sounds like big brother.

Wife bought me the one I wanted for Christmas, It's a little pricey like $85. it's a truckers atlas sold at Books a million. To me it sure is worth the price, had one before but it was from when I drove trucks many years ago.in the 60's

$85 is a lot of money - even to me. I'll stick with my 8-year old WM atlas - and put the $85 in Miller Lite beer.
