The corrected post says 16s. I run Load range E 16s on my pickup, that's the minimum load range allowed on it, and it never carries over 12k lbs, and they are always all steel, the same goes on my Suburban.
If I had a 37' motor home on 16s, I'd make sure they were all steel and a minimum of load range F, G if possible because of the loading characteristics of motor homes. To replace the 4 tires on my truck, it's going to cost me close to $600 this year. I've also got to replace a pair of 19.5s on my motor home and the pair is going to cost nearly as much as the four tires on my pick up.

OP here....if I can ever get through the mountain of snow attached to the tires, I'll definitely get a look at the size of her shoes. In the meantime, she's up to her windows in the white stuff. ACK! ICK! UGH!

Or change out the size of wheel you use so you can put a decent 19.5 tire on instead of an overloaded 16 tire. If you stay with 16 tires, by far XPS RIBs are the best.

Yep...why do you ask? Doesn't everyone name their motor homes?

OP here....OK now....I just trudged through a foot of snow to check out Lucy's tires and they are LT235 85R16's.
I want to make sure I do this right, never having purchased tires in my whole life. DH was always the one in charge of vehicle maintenance and now it's all falling on me. I'm learning as much as I can, as fast as I can.
The one thing I failed to do was check out the manufacturer of the tire. It was so bitter cold out there that I didn't spend as much time reading tires as I'd have liked to I guess.
Any further recommendations from all of you would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to get this done by the 3rd week in March as I'll be off work on mandatory furlough and will need a project.

Snowfether, you've been given all of the information you need.........now it's up to you......you've only got 2 choices........1. The right tire for the job......or 2. A less than right tire for the job (the cheap route)
You are the only one that can determine what you really meant by this line in one of your earlier posts......... but the peace of mind....PRICELESS!
BTW.......I am also putting 6 new tires on my 1996 F53 chassis this year before our big summer vacation........I am buying Michelin LT235 85R16's from my local COSTCO........priced at $235.99 each........

Another point on the curve....
Just because the OP buys a Load Range G tire does not mean that her wheels are rated for the same pressure that the tires are.
Snowfether - there may be a maximum pressure rating stamped on your wheels that would be worth knowing (and not exceeding). Tire load ranges and maximum pressures are as follow: B = 35 PSIG; C = 50 PSIG; D = 65 PSIG; E = 80 PSIG; F = 95 PSIG; G = 110 PSIG.

Her MH has a tag axle. I do not know if 19.5 wheels will work with the tag. I think they went to 16in. because of the extra axle.

What would be the advantage of changing if they are about the same size? I ask because I have a F53 with the same 16 in. tires.
Thanks,
