man i love this idea what a perfect way to keep them out of the campsite, set up one of these under the awning, maybe by the entry door, depending on the operational radius, no Mosquito would ever get into RV, and you could enjoy the campfire with out being bitten

i wonder how many cubic feet/yards air, his test model can protect, what is the range of the beam

They can perform the field trials in Louisiana.... Please!

We would just need to get some shades that block the right light spectrum.

Now thats going cause some serious problems, and as such will never happen.

A cheap laser pointer causes night blindness, which isn't a very good thing to have during a landing approach, or for a helicopter pilot performing law enforcement or search and rescue missions. There are a number of people sitting in prison for such things today.

Now envision a bunch of these things sitting around around all over the world. Yes, the inventor says it only aims at a mosquito, not anything else, but when the mosquitos are between the laser and an aircraft, that would not be very cool.

Just keep it next to the lawn dart box.

keep it under a patio cover or awning
I imagine the current 'proof of concept' model has a very limited focal range measured in millimeters, since it was built with parts used for laser printers and dvd burners

also the the beam blast was in pico-seconds, even in the slow motion video only the point of contact could be seen , not the laser beam !
