We have been chatting for the past few days about kayaks, inflatables, etc. on another post. Most agreed it is hard to find the perfect fit for a Class B, but inflatables seem to win out. Most know that I have an Advanced Elements Straitedge tandem kayak that I consider "ok" but not perfect. Just had a call from a guy that I saw paddling a Grabner inflatable canoe on whitewater last summer. It is 14' 9", built in Canada, and widely used in Europe. I was very impressed with its performance and looked it over carefully. Went on line and found they sell for $2,200,(Canadian)..way out of my reach. Have not been able to find a used one. He offered me his at a very reasonable price. It is used and has a patch, but in good shape. According to the Grabner website (and Youtube videos) you can rig a sail on it and also use an electric motor. It may be awhile before I can pick it up and try it out, but will report back when I do. Anyone want to buy and Advanced Elements tandem kayak? lizzie

I don't know much about kayaks but I attend an excellent presentation on inflatables at "The Rally" in Georgia a few years back and was very impressed by the paddleSki by Sea Eagle. I liked the versitility of this one and it is priced well below $2K
Take a look at it http://www.seaeagle.com/PaddleSki.aspx

I have to agree with the previous post on Sea Eagle. For 299 I got a fully equipped kayak for 2 that I've used on class III rapids, on calm lakes and the surf. I have had it 3 years and still no patches although the bottom is scrapped pretty bad. Used it for fishing, bird watching and remote site camping. Less than 50lbs and in a ruck sack when deflated. fits well in the back storage area.
It's not one of the larger inflatables provided by Sea Eagle but it has proven extremely useful and enjoyable.

The best inflatable I found (after trying/borrowing/paddling many) for long day paddles was the Airis Velocity from Walker Bay boats...http://walkerbay.com/products/airis/airis_velocity_features.html
Packs up easy and I carry on a hitch attached storage rack along with a grill/cooler on trips.
They were pricey....but nothing else gave me the tracking or speed I looked for in paddling.... FYI, I use mostly offshore in the Atlantic or on the Gulf side of Florida.
Have a trailer for use when I must have my hardshell kayaks.....

There is nothing like a "hard shell".
Take a look at Easy Rider Canoe and Kayak. I paddle the "Eskimo Three Piece Take A Part" and fits
on the rear hitch carrier. Again, look to RVRAXX.com for the best carrier.
