We bang a right off I95 N go through Annapolis and go up 301 in Eastern Maryland. It avoids a VERY heavy toll crossing the Susquehanna on I95.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is worth it. The drive on the eastern shore of MD is very nice and not heavily traficked. I haven't been on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in some time but I don't recall the toll being all that unreasonable.

I-95 in NJ is a toll road for some of the way, especially as you approach NYC. If you want to go direct on I-95 and make good time (and I am serious on this one) try to time your travel through those urban areas in the middle of the night. On our way to FL a few years ago we left here at midnight which put us through Baltimore at 3 a.m. and DC at 4 a.m. Smooth sailing.

Safe travels.

Greetings:

IF you are on I95 North, by all means stop and visit Foxwoods Resort Casino.
They allow any size motorhome/campers/trailers at the far end of their huge parking lot. Kinda similar to WAL-MART parking. When I go to Foxwood from Boston I usually see 20-30 rigs parked in that section. Just keep your slideouts in, no outside chairs, BBQs, etc.
MUST SEES ARE:
*Mystic Seaport Village
*Groton Submarine Base.
*MGM Grand Casino
*Mystic Pizza Restaurant (of movie fame)
*Rocky Neck State Park (BEST campground that we've stayed at north of Virginia!)

Have fun.

We've used the ferry with our Class C and truck and TT. There are off season rates (November-March) that are considerably lower than the summer and peak rates. They charge by length for vehicles over 20' so it may be worth it to consider unhooking if you are under 45' solo and over 60' total.

Avoiding tolls can take some planning. I-295 parallels the NJ Turnpike in southern NJ and is free. There is no toll on the I-295 bridge from DE to NJ in the North bound direction. As mentioned, no propane can be taken through the Baltimore tunnels. I-695 East has a toll bridge. I-695 West has no tolls, but I beleave is longer.

Have a Good Trip & Safe Travels!

I recommend 295 around Providence RI, there is major construction on 95 to relocate the 95/195 interchange and they keep moving the lanes around, I hate that section even in just a car!

Also recommend 495 in MA, 95 (rt128) is often a mess.
