unless are leaving early in the morning and you plan on going through Sacramento during commuter time Sac is no big deal. 20 to I5 would be my recommendation. I can't believe anyone would suggest going through any part of the Bay Area any time of day.

20 to 80 to 15S in Salt Lake city, then into LA. You avoid the Bay area traffic that way

Hwy 20 east from Clear Lake thru the hills is great for a motorcycle, but my arms got tired taking a rig thru all those twists & curves!
Honk at any silver Dodge Ram & Crossterrain toyhauler on Baja. It's gotta be us - 'specially if it says Baja and Back #1.
