The landing gear will keep the trailer from moving but you put significant stress on the landing gear when you back into the pin. I always have my roto-chocks solidly in place before hitching up. No way am I taking a chance of bending the landing gear.

Is there any other way to hitch and unhitch?? It's common sense that you would have your wheels chocked when hitching or unhitching, but I use the regular wheel chocks for that. The locking BAL wheel chock is removed before I hitch up, I just use reg. wheel chocks for hitching and unhitching to keep 5er from moving.

I was thinking of buying one of the BAL x-chocks, but now am unsure whether I should. Recently after a long trip to D.C. and back I parked my 5erbeside the house. Since the position beside our house had a deep gravel pad that was not compacted, wife had me back up on levelers on both sides of the trailer(one side higher than the other in order to level it). I thought she had a good idea there. Problem is that this eliminated the ability to place a conventional chock. Since I had not had roll-back problems on this pad prior to its being just raked, I did not worry about the lack of a chock. BIG MISTAKE! when I pulled the kingpin release the trailer rolled back and slid off the blocks under the landing gear and the leading edge of the trailer landed on my truck's bedrails causing about a thousand dollars damage to the truck and trailer (cosmetic). If an x-chock had been in place, the trailer would not have rolled, and I can see no other means of chocking the trailer in this circumstance. The same thing would have happened if I were hitching up without a compression chock like the BAL. What could have been done differently here. Is there another way to chock a vehicle besides a conventional chock or the x-chock? I agree that without a chock, the landing gear would take too much strain(flex)during hookup. Any suggestions out there?

why would the warranty be voided

Damage to your RV would be covered by WHAT warranty? Not the RV company. Do you think the company that made the so called Tire Chock would? I don't think so.

The X-Chock starts off where the Deluxe Tire Locking Chock left off but it’s new, slimmer design will fit into more axle applications

They need a new proofreader.

If they are so great, why do they fly out if the trailer is moved. Supposed to keep trailer from moving, but in fact the trailer will move causing the thing to be come a missle.
