We owned a 2004 Sandpiper F37sp up until this past year. It was a good trailer. We had one issue with the cast aluminum wheels but Forest River stepped right up and replaced them.

I have a Sierra, which supposedly is the same as a Sandpiper. I have only had it for 6 months, but so far it has been very trouble-free and we have used it nearly every other week in that 6 month timeframe. Guys on here can complain til their faces turn blue, but like was mentioned before, Forest River is one of the largest manufacturers of RVs in the world and when you make that many there are bound to be more problems than the smaller manufacturers. That being said, I make sure to keep a very close eye on the frame of my 5er because I want to be well aware of any problems that are surfacing as soon as possible. So far my rig seems to be very rigid, despite what some on here will say about theirs. I watch the supposed "weak points" very closely when I'm making turns, crossing railroad tracks, etc, and I dont see any flexing at all. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones, but I'd be willing to bet that there are a LOT more happy Sierra/Sandpiper owners out there than this forum would lead you to believe......otherwise they wouldn't be in business.

Ours sure has given the family a ton of good times and memories. It hasn't let us down so far. I knew what I was buying and am perfectly able to handle any issue that comes up, myself. I wouldn't consider trusting a dealer. Tried it a couple times with a previous trailer and won't go back.

From MN it's been to Moab, UT twice, Black Hills, SD, Michigan's UP, and many 300 mile weekend trips in between. I haven't bothered figuring out the miles but it's a few. Always loaded down. Does it flex?? Yep. Has from day one. I keep an eye on it and it hasn't changed since. Concertone system was gone before the first big trip. I replaced it with something that actually does work and don't lose sleep over it.

Every trailer out there will flex to some degree. We're not falling apart by any means. I'll fix it myself when the time comes. Maybe before. Who knows. Highway Trooper tires still look like new. No leaks in the roof or cracks in the walls.

I'd buy another one when the time comes because there really isn't anything else out there that "fits us" and money sure doesn't guarantee quality from what I've seen, in the RV business.

Oh, I wanted to point out that I have heard a lot of complaining about the concertone system. My Sierra doesn't have that system. I can't think of what it is now, maybe RCA, but it works fine. I don't know what the problem is with the Concertone, but maybe they have upgraded for the newer models.

If you read around on here, it sounds like forest river isn't bad to deal with either. I think more often than not the problem is the dealer, not forest river.

I have a 2009 345RET, Only had one problem so far, The TV didn't work when we got it and the dealer wouldn't help (RV Wholesalers)but the factory bent over backwards to get us a new one. Ours does not have the Concertone radio either. I would buy another Sandpiper in heart beat.
