I just picked up 28QB leftover 2009 Jayco and took it out on the highway today and found that the window was whistling to the point like a mouse was squeeking (sp). I have a problem with the standard radio- volume does not adjust properly- I'll turn it up and the volume will stay put or move down. The propane tank's on/off knob does not move at all- I know its on b/c the furnace turns on and works ok. I am taking it back to the dealer where I bought it so I guess I'll see what type of service they provide.

ours had a rubber roof coming off about the first 6 feet of the motorhome was not glued properly. we also had a/c problems but those are fixed now. we put vent covers on all our vents. we are still noticing some noise from the roof which is the tv antenna tapping on top of the roof...

Does anyone have any heat issues? The bedroom and bunks get all the heat while the rest of the motorhome is very cool. Anyone else have this problem?

Just found this thread, thought I would throw in my comments. I bought a 1999 Jayco Designer in early 2000. My list of factory defects have run to three pages single space. They refused to honor their warranty. I've been working on each of the problems over the years. I still own the rig and have been upgrading it to the MotorHome it should have come from the factory as. Jayco, in my opinion, is no better and no worse that any of the other builders. But, I personally don't think they deserve the reputation they have. I also bought because of that reputation. But, since I'll keep this one until I die, there is no reason to find a replacement.

cccougar, The LP tank valve should be "seated" when turned OFF, but it should also be "backseated" when turned ON. I mention this because it's possible somebody backseated it too hard in the ON position. Just snug in either seating is OK, doesn't need to be socked down hard.

My wife & I are considering the Greyhawk 31FS. Does anyone have any problems with keeping the unit cool in hot summer temps?

That statement has me scratching my head. Not that it didn't happen to you, but I know quite a few people who have had work done on their units, covered by Jayco, out of warranty. I think a lot has to do with the dealer.. They don't get aggressive enough and I personally think some don't want the "warranty reduced" payment.
They actually covered a roof leak repair for me almost 2 years after the warranty was up on our 2001 Designer. As to our current unit there is a small defect in the linoleum (small piece of debris under it) that Jayco said they would cover if it got to be a problem later on down the line. Trying to fix it now would have messed up the integrity of the flooring (something I didn't want).
So as was stated in another post there is a wide variation in how we all perceive the handling of our individual problems.

The subwoofer on my surround sound was not functioning properly (static and occasional crackling sound). The dealership replaced the system with a new Sony system which works great. A heating pad came loose on my holding tank and one of the kitchen drawer's bottom came loose like you described in #4. All was fixed by the dealership. We had 3 maxxair vent put on when we purchased the RV, so have not had any issues with rattling noise as you described. Almost 7000 miles and still happy with our Jayco.
See you on the road!

I don't think anyone can buy any motorhome/trailer without having some knowledge of how things work, and you must be somewhat handy in fixing things otherwise you'll have it in the shop all the time for minor repairs. Rattles, broken drawers, etc are all part of driving your house down the road at 60mph. Our drawer slide brackets also broke-I just bought all new ones at CW and installed them with better screws instead of staples. The sewer smell you are getting is because your vents are prob closed while the fan is on, or else just crack the door open a bit more when the fan is on. A vacuum has to suck from somewhere! Our Greyhawk has had a few problems, no more than any other rv we've had in the past, and I really like the V10 power and handling. Wish it got more than 9mpg, but thats the name of the game.
