Here's a couple photo's of wheel chocks I made...uses a ratcheting strap to tighten. Quick and easy - no tools needed.

That's pretty clever! I might give that a try; certainly less expensive. Are you able to get them fairly tight?

Yes, very tight. Sometimes they need a bit of 'persuasion' to come out from between the tires..
Try a scrap piece of wood first to get the angle right. You want them to fit between the tires but not so far down that the strap doesn't have room to ratchet. I find it easiest to place them so the ratchet action to tighten is downwards; keeping the ratchet close to the top so when you release the ratchet can open flat against the strap.

"Give me a big enough lever and I'll move the Earth"

If you're going to be rowdy enough to move the unit with these chocks you probably have other things on your mind than the miniscule movement of the trailer.

Way to go! I admire folks who take the time to make their own gadgets occasionally.
After being a self-employed welder, tin-knocker, metal worker for over 15yrs, however,.....simply buying a set of 'Bal Chocks' sure looked good to me.........

Enjoy the journey folks......

Another way to skin the cat is to use a, small truckers' chain tightners that draw two eye bolts installed thru the middle of the wood pieces.

The issue with this design whether it is a threaded steel rod or the straps shown in this example is the front and back wheel will still move so I don't see this design actually working as advertised. The models that are basically horizontal car jacks do not allow the front and back wheel to move at all. This accomplishes the task. Comments?
