I have a 99 Newmar Kountry Star Fiver, and am having a problem with the bedroom slide. It comes in and shuts off as it should. When I extend the slide, it goes out, but does not stop the motor. It starts making a skipping sound, like it is jumping a gear. It just started doing this. It has an Intellitec model 310 Slideout controller. I tried adjusting it to the minimum setting, no change. Has anyone had a similar experience, or have any suggestions. Thanks.

I posted this awhile ago and got no response. I still have the problem, and decided to try again. Thanks

Both my slides do that. Kind of like an overriding Jaw clutch slipping. Jim

Most likely not the response you want but I don't have a clue. No responses usually means we don't know the answer. Hope you have better luck this time around. Might need to take it to a RV repair shop.

Its the motors cluch making that noise. It keeps you from holding down the switch until something breaks. If you keep running it out until it makes this noise each time your going to wreck it. Read your manual. Most state that you need to let go of the switch just before it starts to ratchet. When the motor starts to slow down eather putting out or in, then thats the spot to let go.

With mine, you just push the switch and let go. It should stop as soon as it meets resistance. It works fine coming in, but going out I must stop it manually. It talked to Newmar and they mentioned some adjustment. I do not see anywhere to do that.

I believe Pond Jumper gave you the right answer you need to stop the slide before fully opened or closed or the gear will strip and you will be cranking it in.

Are you stating that when you stop holding the switch to put the slide out that the motor continues to run? If that is the case change the switch.

I believe that the switch is working as designed. I push it to start and if I push it again it stops and push it again it starts in the opposite direction. The only thing not working is the auto stop when extending the slide. The main slide works the same way, however it does stop automatically.
