Then travel on to the Petrified Forest. Can anyone suggest the best route to the Forest? Right now I figure to go west on NM 60 and AZ 180 to Holbrook, AZ. And pass thru Pie Town, NM . Stay at Route 66 Passport America RV park. Then spend the next day at the Forest. BTW, if you go out to the VLA or otherwise, check out the Montosa RV Park outside of Magdelena NM. Passport America park, very rural, spacious, clean, 30 and 50 amp service. Thanks. Don't worry about Pietown'w pies. They have better pie in WalMart. We were very disappointed in Pietown. Make sure you get out and walk the trails in PF. Enjoy and if you can detour go by El Morro which also has a great campground.
