Always love looking at those campers Thanks for linking us up! Nice pictures and it's amazing to find so many nice old campers and their owners in one spot.
They have a few of these around the United States each year. I think if you Google their site, you'll find their schedule
Glad you liked the images!

Here is mine, a 1981 Sunlite 17 1/2. I bought it a month ago very cheap with the intent to gut it and rebuild. Everything in it worked, fridge, water system, water heater and furnace all in good order. The outside was also very nice and tires like new so I figured a good base to build on.
Where I found it.

Partial wall rebuild

Bathroom floor was really bad, ended up tearing out almost all the floor and reframing.

Roof was weak so removed all framing and redid with 2 x 4 rafters with 1.5" crown cut in.

Getting close to ready to finish the inside. Nothing fancy my main goal here is a small lightweight TT that is well insulated, sturdy and efficient. It will have 2 bunks in the back, kitchen and bath in center and booth in the front. So much left to do.

Oddly, I have a 1984 I just bought that is rotted in the front right hand corner like yours. Must have been a mfr problem.
the rest of the trailer is in good shape.

On the Travel Channel a few nights back, they had an episode of Extreme RV which featured a company called FLYTE CAMP that takes vintage RV's and restores them to look like they originally did, but with modern technology
Man do they do some sweet work, and all done by hand! It was an awesome show

UP, you're headed in the same direction I'm going, "...well insulated, sturdy, and efficient". I really like how you handled the rafters, did you cut those with a bandsaw? Nice work, I'll be following along.

I cut the rafters out of 2 x 4 with a circular saw. Just cut an angle on both ends from 3 1/2" down to 2" with the center flat, maybe 3' of it's flat. Gives me a flat to mount the skylights and tv antenna on. I put 1/4" BC plywood up against the metal roof temporarily supported then put the rafters up with construction adhesive on top of them to glue to the plywood. Worked well and is super strong. I'm going to insulate the ceiling with R15 3 1/2" fiberglass.
Here's a couple pics of where I'm at. This campers framing was only 1 x 2's so I'm adding another 1 x 2 over the existing and then adding the rigid insulation. I've also got a big roll of some foil wrapped bubble wrap type insulation leftover from a job and I think I'm going to wrap the whole inside with it before paneling.
Instead of furring out around the big back window I put up a sheet of 1/2" CDX since there was only a 1 x 4 over the back window and I plan on building a bunk there. The back was was flimsy before but can't even move it now.
