I am reading The Cell by Stephen King which is the book that started this topic. I am usually far behind in the books that I read as I buy most of mine second hand. I got it in 2008 at 2 for 25@ and just got around to reading it.
King is not my favorite author so it just sat on the shelf until last night when I was getting rid of books and found it. I should have read it right away.
And why isn't there a cent symbol on the keyboard? Or is there and I do not know about it.

The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle--1300 pages--wonderful to see how the author's style and ideas developed over time. Many of the themes are evident in television cop shows. Hmmm? Wonder where they get their ideas?

Still having fun!

Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs. It's first of a series of books that were the model for the TV series Bones. I love the TV series but it looks like I'll be reading all the books, too. The original Dr. Brennan is nothing like the TV Dr. but I like them both. The setting in the book is in Montreal instead of Washington, D.C. and there is only a faint hint of an Agent Booth equivalent (although that could develop in later books).

The previous book was Out of OZ by Gregory Maguire (the ending was disappointing) and just before that were Michael Crichton's Micro and Jean Auel's Land of the Painted Caves (the ending was a bit of a disappointment because it is the end of the series). The ending of Micro suggested the author who finished Crichton's work (Crichton passed away before finishing the book) may write a sequel.

Some of the Reichs books take place in the US but none I have read are at the Jeffersonian. The books and the series are completely different except the name of the main caracter.
I did see Reichs testifying at a trail on True TV.
I have the Complete Sherlock Holmes that I bought at a garage sale and read right away. I was surprised how many of the stories I had never heard of.

Finished Deja Dead. I'll have to drag my ample asset down to the used bookstore to see if they have the rest of the series. I'll be starting The Birth of Venus by Sarah Sunant later this evening before crashing tonight.
