BUMP! I think another one was in order. Art and I had a good weekend here. we did things I never thought we would do again. Now, stop thinking things like that. we JUST bought a set of bunkbeds. We sometimes ran out of sleeping places here for gkids so we should be good to go for a while. Tell me, dont gkids eventually get tired of visiting gparents? I thought they would think we are boring?

...Hey ro sie, we had a great weekend also...Son and daughter in law came down from Blacksburg Va to drop off our 10 yr old and 4 yr. old grandsons...the son and daughter in law had to go to Spartansburg for the weekend and we kept the kids from Friday evening till yesterday morning...and I had to work Saturday.....it was fun....kept Kathy busy and I got home around 2:00, and helped her rest of the way....the 4 yr. old is WIDE open and I didn't have to work out after playing with him Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning...keeps you young.

Been really nice weather around here. Highs in the upper 50's, lows in the 40's....It's partly cloudy right now and about 50 degrees...I'll take it for this time of the year.

other son, (Asheville Police Detective) and his wife and friend of my son's came over last night and we all watched the Super Bowl....can't help myself...and it was a great game...the team I wanted to win even won, (Giants).....though I'm looking forward to the day the Carolina Panthers get back in it and win it...

Instead of purchasing one of those covers for my 5er that is made for it and would cost close to $400, I went to Lowes and purchased a 30' X50' tarp and covered it about a week ago after cleaning it up....I got tired of trying to keep the streaks off of it...only cost me a little over a $100 and covers it front to back and side to side....works for me...took some rope, but it's done now..even got some heavy duty velcro, cut a door opening and can open and close it when I want to go in....

Hope all of you are well and having a great day week, take care out there, catch ya later.

NOw that tarp is a great idea. Glad to hear you got it from Lowes too. did you know one of our kids is a Lowes employee? everytime we need something for the house, she says, " you know, Lowes sells that". Altho she is a stocker, I think she is Lowes best sales person. We had something interesting happen last night. Abi's mother called us and ask if we could help Abi with her math homework. Abi is a third grader ! I went over and picked her up and we all sat at the table and did third grade math. lol Hot chocolate followed before bed time and My fella took her to school this morning on his way to the office. Third grade math is harder than it was when I went to third grade, but we could do it. going to run over to the dr's office today to see if I can get my scripts straightened out.

Another nice day here, got up to about 60...calling for nice temps. through most of the week..chance of rain later with temps. dropping some around Saturday.. They're having an RV show at the AG center near the Airport, Fri., Sat and Sun...I'm off this weekend so Kathy and I are going to go look around just to...you know, look around.....We're happy with what we have and have kept the HR in pretty good shape...canned the sleeper sofa couch in the slide out in the living room and went with a 62" Lazy Boy Love seat/dual recliner....I can still lay down on it, but Kathy and I can sit in it and each have a recliner....got a sweet deal on it at a furniture store in Asheville.....Works and looks great...the sleeper sofa, I put back together in one of the back bedrooms in our house and it'll make a nice couch to nap/set on...both bedrooms have futons in them which can easily be made into beds when we have company...we sprang for the thicker mattress, so both futons are very comfortable to sit or sleep on...

Hope all of you are having a great day....take care...catch ya later....

Oh, I got a PM from Shun back a week or so ago just saying "howdy" and told me he had purchased some land in Georgia, ( up close to our way)..I told him to let me know if he get's around the area.....see ya for now.

Sounds like you made some good mods NC. We kept our sofa in the Moho just so we would have the sleeoing spot for the little ones. we DID dump that awful jsofa. I hated that thing. bought a nice recliner that art loves. traded out all the boat anchor tv.s for Hd flat screens. Art and I are going to a cruise in next month in my little car. It is for classic cars, and mine is considered and antique, but I feel sure they will let us in. Glad you heard from wing and glad to know he is going to be a neighbor. Going to have our security people here tomorrow. they say our system needs to be updated. Yuk, that means we have to sit around and wait for them. overcast here, rain on the way. good old liquid sunshine!

Snow. Light winds. 15 degrees.
I looked at the old "hi/low" thermometer yesterday, and it was showing a low of 12 below zero and a high of 66 degrees! I have no idea when those extremes were reached, though. Has to have been sometime in the last 30 days or so, though.
Ah, yes, winter in Montana!

NC Hauler: I like the idea of the tarp. We put one of those 'made especially for' covers on our mh in December. Went down to the storage lot to check on it last weekend and the entire passenger side had ripped loose at the bottom and it had shifted to the drivers side almost half way up. Expensive cover ruined and we've only used it 2 winters. It'll be a tarp for us next time.

Welcome to the OOP'S thread barbandwayne. Don't feel alone on that one, I too spent a little over $300 some years back for one of those "custom fit" covers for another 5er I had....it was a bear to put on and, though it fit nicely and did the job, it too got "caught up in a wind" about the second year I owned it and by the time I got it removed and checked out the damage, I found it was useless to even try to repair it. Ended up giving it to a friend who cut it to fit his 30' TT...so much for that....I didn't use one for several years after that, but got tired of cleaning the black streaks off during the winter months that it sit on my property...so this year I purchased the aforementioned tarp, even cut a door area and used extra strength velcro to keep it closed when I didn't want in the 5er and easy to open when I wanted to go inside...for a little over $100, it's much easier to handle, to tie down and it gives me full coverage, front to back, side to side, I was impressed to say the least.
I'm liking it so far.

drop by anytime you want to, have a great weekend and take care...

What a difference one day makes....it's snowing here, (maybe 1/2" on the ground, none on the roads, at least at 2300' it's no big deal...it's also 27 degrees outside and the wind is really whipping around out there...don't know what the wind chill factor is, but it's probably around BBBRRRRRRR, or there abouts Supposed to get down to about 17 degrees by tonight and not much better tomorrow...believe we're getting some of that "stuff" that just shot through up around where Jon lives....

The DW and I went to the RV show...inside and more dealers than I would have thought. Saw a nice 38' Open Range with the front living room and 5 slides...nice, but we like what we've got and it was just fun to get out and look around..

Hope all of you are doing well and hope your having a good weekend....catch ya later.
