I downloaded Photo Plus SE Pro to adjust the size of our signature picture. With the pixel width of 100, the height adjusts itself to 133, which makes the pic really small. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Rebecca

Crop the picture before you resize it. I don't have the original, but I've cropped the one in your signature to illustrate.

Thanks for your help, but it's still no larger, I wanted the snow cover tree branches in the photo. Is 500 pixels in height and 100 pixels in width correct? The picture is tall and skinny.

For signature pictures, maximum height is 100 pixels, maximum width is 500 pixels, and maximum file size is 30 KB.

I had to crop after the resize. If you cropped before the resize, you would have a larger view of the rig.

Here is an illustration.

If I started with this picture. (Actually, much larger, this has been reduced from a width of 3456 pixels to 640 pixels.)

And simply reduced it to a height of 100 pixels, I would have

But, if I cropped it first to emphasize the rig, then reduced it to a height of 100 pixels, I would get

As far as wanting to show the trees, you have to decide what you want in the picture. However, a maximum height of 100 pixels does not allow for much vertical detail.

Brevity snip. I've spent much time reading the info here and yet have not seen one post explaining how to make a 500 X 100 pic 30 kbs or less. It's easy to make them 500 X 100 but not how to change them from say 120 kbs to 30 kbs without them becoming too small to see or too blurry to see. How is that done? I have Photofiltre, Irvanview and AdobePhotoDeluxe so am not a beginner with images. To reduce the sigfile pic from say 80 kbs or 110 kbs to 30 kbs needs to be explained here. As you can see, my sigfile, at 28 kbs is very poor quality and lost most of it's size and all of it's quality to meet the 30 kb requirement.

Cropping a picture will reduced the file size. However, if a picture is shot at a high resolution, increasing the amount of compression may be required to get the file size low enough.

In the programs that I am familiar with, increasing the compression is accomplished when you save the file. For example, in irfanview, a slider bar to the right of the main save window is used.
