RE: Thank you all. I have my first PU Camper

I have the truck in my sig. Axles are 9350 rear and 5500 front. This gives me 14850 total. Factory tires are 2945 dual and 3145 single. Total 18070. Wheels are alcoa and stamped for 3300 each, times 6 equals 19800. Axles are my weak link. Good news is I am not anywhere near that number loaded and ready to go. Crew cab Dodges can handle heavy campers. My truck and TC have every option available. Love it. OP your rig is great looking and very nice. Please have many safe travels for years to come. Enjoy it! Maybe we will meet one day, if so, I'm buying first round.

RE: Problem with Pilot/Flying J RV Plus Card

Went to 3 diff FJ/Pilots and finally got 1 store to take card. First 2 stores didn't know what it was and would do nothing. Didn't work at pumps anywhere. At 3rd store manager called and got it to work at least. I did not get my 8 cent discount. At that point i was glad i got any fuel. I am not impressed, to bad, I loved my old card and used it for many years. Wish I still had it.

RE: goodyear tires

I have run GY's with the last 3 coaches. One was 19.5 and the last 2 were 22.5. No issues at all, and I run heavy and a lot of miles in the heat.

RE: RV length and finding a campsite

I have never had a problem. Fed and state campgrounds always post smaller length numbers than they really are. YS and Acadia are 2 that come to mind. We rarely stay in private CG. 45 feet and pulling a toad 71 feet total. Of course I do own the TC in my sig also. It is used for other trips. I love them both!!

RE: Arctic Fox weight over truck limit!

You need to address the tire issue first. If you can't upgrade your 16 inch tires go 19.5. I have done this on a 96 2500. You will have no worries with those. The rear axle is more of a wear issue than saftey, at first. Of course as it wears it will become a saftey issue. Try to pack the camper with less stuff, travel with empty tanks, shift weight to the front..etc..My first thought is get a 3500 but that might not be possible. Good luck with whatever you do.

RE: SuperHitch and Torklift compatibility question??

How do you plug in the TC tail lights and the trailer tail lites? Some kind of 3 way adapter?

RE: Are today motorhomes underpowered compared

You can still buy 500HP rigs, or more if you want. I have plenty of power. This is my 4th coach and the first one I really worry about speeding in.

RE: Thetford Aria Deluxe Toilet

We have an electric one. Not loud at all. Love it, except when the circut board went bad last summer in Utah. $375 later I got 1 fed ex and installed it in 90 seconds....a little pricey for a circut board.

RE: Why are Truck Campers so expensive?

TC's are a very low demand product. They don't sell by the thousands like towables do. The few people that want a TC will pay for it and the dealers know it. Also they just don't build that many because they can't sell that many. A lot of RV dealers don't carry TC because they can't sell them due to low demand. The ones that do charge what they want and people that want them pay it. Just because you make a lot of money on one item doesn't mean you will stay in business. You have to sell enough to cover cost. If you can't sell enough units to cover cost you are out of business. Unless you can borrow more cash. Bottom line, they are priced that way because of low volume and the people who want them will pay for them.
