Temp guage

Would like to put a weather station on our new RV. Nothing fancy just Temp and Humidity and maybe a barometer. I know I can get one and hide the outdoor sensor someplace away from the weather but I would like to have one right on the RV under the awning where I spend a lot of my time. Sensor would need to be waterproof of course so it would need to be made for these kind of conditions. Anyone have one like this. I know I could just use one of the Wal Mart jobs and bring in the sensor everytime but I know that I wouod forget it and have to start over again Any ideas?

RE: Ford F 150

Thanks for all of the advice but I have just pulled the trigger on the Prime Time Tracer 2640 RLS. Dry Wt. 5756 and hw 637. I know those #s will be higher but I think I will be OK. My cargo wt on my truch is 1417 so with just me and the wife we should be OK. I might not be able to take a load of firewood to the campgrouns like I do with my little camper now but thats ok, I can get it local to the campground most of the time. I get it Thursday so we will see. Thanks again

Ford F 150

Need some input from u guys? I have a 2010 F150 Ex cab 4x4 with a 5.4 and a 3.55 rear end. I am looking at 3 campers, a Rockwood 2604ss, a Primetime Tracer whicch weighs about 5750 lbs and a Puma 26RLSS The Puma is the only one I am really concerned about, its dry weigh is 6170 with hitch weigh at 700. Just me and my wife sso what do u guys think about my truck and the Puma? The Tracer is 5750 and the Rockwood is 5300 so I feel OK with these. Any of u pulling these weights with your F 150. I live in WV and have a lot of hills and Mountains? Thanks

Hands Free Cell Device?

Well the Governor here in WV signed it into law yesterday, no more hand held cell use while driving. Truck has Sync but wife car 2005 Camry will need a new device so she can be legal. Anyone have any suggestions on a piticular unit. Need some help and would like some advice from some of u guys who use this in your car. She would never wear the ear unit so that is not an option. We take this car camping sometimes so that makes it a RV related issue. Any advice is welcome Thanks

RE: 2012 Prime Time Tracer 2640RLS

Well the deal fell through, when I told them I was going to do the deal they offered me, they began to back petal and said they made a mistake and wanted about $3000 extra. Don't you just hate when they do that? Shame, we really liked that trailer. I guess we will start looking at RVW for a Rockwood 2604, same floorplan as the Tracer but I think the Tracer is much nicer but I have had great success with my present Rockwood.

2012 Prime Time Tracer 2640RLS

Looking at one of these (Tracer 2640RLS), Local dealer wants $22,616 and offered me a very good trade in on my 2004, ($10,000) 2304s Rockwood. Any one have this unit. Seems very well built. One question does the dinette area convert to a bed? I ask the salesman and he said yes but after looking at it and thinking about how the back cushions are made I am not sure it will make a bed? Anyone have any opinion on the price above and on this unit in piticular? Its been 8 years and I have the fever again.

RE: Water system and bleach?

Thanks everyone, I just usually pour some in and get to much so I wanted to do it right this time. Seems hard to get the hot water flushed out good, I guess I could just pull the plug and drain it that way but will use 1/2 cup and flush it a few times, Going to Charleston SC in 3 weeks and can't wait for this season to start. Water system and bleach?

I think I might flush out the pink stuff today and I always put too much bleach in my fresh water so how much do u guys use. I have a 30 gal fresh water tank and I fill it up with water then some bleach and then I run it into all of my plumbing and let it set for a few hrs and then flush a couple times with fresh water. How much bleach? Like to use as little as possible.

7 pin connector

Been chasing down a brake problem on my trailer for past 2 days, brakes work just very weak. Hooked up to my sons truck and all was well, so I figured it was my brake controller. I pryed the connector inside of my 7 pin together making them tighter and it worked much better so I guess I need to replace it. Wondering if I should just buy a new end or I saw an end with about 1 ft. of wire on it and I like that better or what about the entire cable? Trailer is a 2004 model so I guess 8 years is a good run. What would u do? thanks ED

Caulking Windows

My Rockwood is a 2004 model so I am thinking about doing some window maintance. Mine has a caulk from the factory that is cracking, it came with the caulk like a putty and then it was topped with a clear caulk/sealant. I thought I would remove the caulk that is sticking out and cracked and run a small bead of the clear around it. Anyone know what the clear stuff that they use from the factory is. Really don't like silicone. I am having no problems or leaks just like to keep thing in tip top shape?

RE: Wheel Grease Seals

Yes, that is probably what I will have to do as well. It is a 10in drum and I might be able to use the # from the book I have but not sure that will help much at the Auto parts store. I could go the the local RV place but they would charge an arm and a leg,

Wheel Grease Seals

I am going to repack my wheel bearings on my 2004 Rockwood 2304-S and I think it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and get new seals. Is there a way to know what type size I need or do I have to just take the old one in to the Auto store for a matchup? It has 13 in tires but I doubt that makes any difference. Would just like to have everything I need before I tear into it. Thanks

RE: 12-volt plug for C-Pap

Thanks everyone, The electric went out here at home for a few hrs and I was miserable so I ordered the hook ups from Respronics and today I went to Wal Mart and bought a Deep Cell battery so I am ready here at home, Now I will make the RV ready as well, I have not been camping when the power went out but I am sure it will happer and I want to be ready. I don't want to drag around a extra battery so I will do the hook up to the water pump. If I do decide to go where there is no power I have the extra battery to take. 14 guage and I would think a smaller inline fuse would be in order like a 5 amp or 10 at the most? Thanks again Spring will be here before u know it.

12-volt plug for C-Pap

Has any one installed a 12 v. cigarette type adapter in their RV to operate their C-Pap machine off the 12-volt system of the RV? I was wondering if I could tie into the wires that supply the water pump. The machine needs very little power. It would only be used if there was a power outage and I guess if we would ever stay somewhere with out power but that seem unlikely. What size wire should I use? That would be the easiest way for me to do it; I could also run a line from the battery but is that really necessary? What do u think?

RE: Low point drains

I have 2004 Rockwood 2304-s and I had yet to this day found a low point drain on my camper. Counting this year I have winterized it 8 times and have had no problems. If it has one I can't find it and so far I have not needed it. There is a drain on my fresh water tank whick I open from time to time. If anyone knows where mine is located I would like to find out.

RE: Beach Fork State Park, WV

Its a nice park, many sites on the lake and sites are big unless u need the full hookups and they are tight together. We go there 2 or 3 times a year since they are close.
