RE: two rivers campground

We stayed at Twin Rivers and would go back. It is tight as far as sites go but maneuvering is easy enough. Nice people too.

RE: White Mountains, NH and Freeport,ME

The largest most private sites for the White Mountains with full hookups will be found at Branch Brook Campground in Campton, NH. The campground buildings and some infrastructure are in poor shape but from where you'll be camped it will make no difference. The sites are back in but arranged in a sort of wagon wheel configuration, angled to the road that makes backing in quite easy. The Twin Mountain KOA is beautiful but it is the typical rackem stackem park.

RE: does anyone have usa select choice health insurance

I don't believe it's health insurance. It's a policy that will pay you up to a set amount if you have an accident and need medical attention. I could be wrong but I think that's what they do.

Now Fulltiming!!

We are fulltimers starting today. We pull away from the house for the last time around 9:00. It was a long time coming. Thinking and planning since 2007.

RE: Small, portable air compressor

Based on recommendations from a few others I bought this one yesterday. I used it today and it really works well. It's light and stows easily in one of my smaller rear compartments.

RE: Small, portable air compressor

After messing around with a small under powered compressor I finally bought a California Air Tools compressor from Home Depot on-line. It is a fantastic compressor, ultra quite series, 89 db I think, builds up 120 psi.
It doesn't get used much on the RV since I fixed the leaking issue, proper valve stems took care of that. But we have lots of wheels to maintain and it was a nice upgrade to the tool collection.
Which model did you buy?

RE: Breakfast restaurant I-84 West of Hartford Ct.

Just got a slap upside the head for that last post... It's the Blue Colony Diner in Church Hill Rd., Newtown, CT. To quote her exact words "You idiot". Well, I guess I deserved that one, my apologies...
Here's their web site: http://www.bluecolonydiner.com/
Well I'm idiot #2 then I figured out it was Blue Colony but I took a wrong turn off exit 10 and went into Sandy Hook. I ended up at The Sandy Hook Diner. A tiny place right in town about a half mile from the highway. The food and service was excellent with the best homemade hash I've had in a while. I highly recommend this place. Thanks for the replies.

RE: WHY TEXAN?

When we first looked into fulltime states we got the same result -> insurance rates (both health and car/RV) were higher for us in Texas. So, we ended up in SD.
It's an individual thing so I'm sure for certain people TX makes more sense, and may even be cheaper. For example if you have pre-existing medical conditions and need to be part of the High Risk Pool -> Don't know this for sure...just speculating here.
I believe you are right about the high risk pool. SD has no out of network Providers while I believe Texas has an extensive out of network list of Providers.

RE: Deming N M Campground review

Deming was probably the friendliest campground we ever stayed in. I had my instruments with me and we even had a Bluegrass/country jam. I'd love to go back.

RE: The half price camp ground clubs

Not sure where you're looking but I've never had that problem with PPA in all the years I"ve been using it. Stay for a couple of months during winter months in South Texas and use it for emergency overnight location when a campground isn't available in a particular area. Just check the book and you'll see that each RV park makes their own rules for use and most will say only "based on availability" rather than ruling out a time period.
I agree with you on passport America. We have found plenty of PPA parks where the discount is good anytime. It may not always be half off but it's always better than full price.

RE: Changing domicile from state with no sales tax!

Many things go into a new domicile. Voting, jury duty, drivers license and vehicle license. Med insurance auto/RV insurance. Way too many things to discuss or type about here. Do research on which states could work the best for YOU. One size doesn't fit all in this game.
Thanks for the reply but I was only asking about the one thing.

Changing domicile from state with no sales tax!

Hi all,
We are going full time next April. We live in NH now which has no state income or sales tax. If we move our domicile to Texas or SD will we have to pay sales tax on those vehicles upon registering? We have fairly new vehicles so this could turn out to be a major expense.

RE: Gettysburg, Pa

Gettysburg and Artillery Ridge are good recommendations. When you tour the battlefield you'll have a choice of hiring a guide, buying a CD for a self guided tour or just driving around. I highly recommend hiring the guide. It is relatively inexpensive and they really know their stuff.

RE: Palo Duro Canyon SP RV sites & Texas The Musical

The musical is great and there isn't a bad seat in the house. They have made some improvments to the theatre this year. You'll be fine no matter where you sit.
Same with the campgrounds. Assuming you'll be in an RV not tent. Sagebrush is the closest to the theater and the shortest drive (about 5 miles) from the gatehouse. Sagebrush tends to attract a more mature camper and is the nicest from a layout perspective IMO.
Hackberry is the place to be if you want to see wildlife and is usually has the most campers because of that.
Mesquite is 8 miles down in the canyon and you have to cross 6 water crossings to get there. The crossings aren't bad and Mesquite has the best views from your campsite.
You can't go wrong with any of these choices. Palo Duro is great.
