RE: Changing domicile from state with no sales tax!

Many things go into a new domicile. Voting, jury duty, drivers license and vehicle license. Med insurance auto/RV insurance. Way too many things to discuss or type about here. Do research on which states could work the best for YOU. One size doesn't fit all in this game.
Thanks for the reply but I was only asking about the one thing.

Changing domicile from state with no sales tax!

Hi all,
We are going full time next April. We live in NH now which has no state income or sales tax. If we move our domicile to Texas or SD will we have to pay sales tax on those vehicles upon registering? We have fairly new vehicles so this could turn out to be a major expense.

RE: Gettysburg, Pa

Gettysburg and Artillery Ridge are good recommendations. When you tour the battlefield you'll have a choice of hiring a guide, buying a CD for a self guided tour or just driving around. I highly recommend hiring the guide. It is relatively inexpensive and they really know their stuff.

July it'll be busy but if you arrive between 10:00 and noon Sunday your chances are good.

RE: Palo Duro Canyon SP RV sites & Texas The Musical

The musical is great and there isn't a bad seat in the house. They have made some improvments to the theatre this year. You'll be fine no matter where you sit.
Same with the campgrounds. Assuming you'll be in an RV not tent. Sagebrush is the closest to the theater and the shortest drive (about 5 miles) from the gatehouse. Sagebrush tends to attract a more mature camper and is the nicest from a layout perspective IMO.
Hackberry is the place to be if you want to see wildlife and is usually has the most campers because of that.
Mesquite is 8 miles down in the canyon and you have to cross 6 water crossings to get there. The crossings aren't bad and Mesquite has the best views from your campsite.
You can't go wrong with any of these choices. Palo Duro is great.

Water heater noise

Hi all,
I have a 2011 Carriage 5ver with a 10 gal suburban gas/elec water heater. Starting last night we heard what we thought was water running but it was the water heater making noise. It was on electric at the time and when I shut the switch of the noise stopped. I turned it off for the night but this morning when I turned it on again the noise came back almost immediately. I thought last night that perhaps the water was getting too hot and starting to boil but the noise came back too fast this morning for that to be the case. We have been fulltiming in since Feb and have never heard this noise before. The pressure regulator valve did not go off and is not leaking. Any thoughts are appreciated.

RE: Another Tire Story

I don't know what caused the tire to fail. By the time I stopped the tire was shredded and the wheel was ground down to the bead. I would be swapping out the tires even if I had not had the flat.

RE: Another Tire Story

No matter what else I do I'm getting rid of the Chinese tires. I'm disappointed with Carriage. I feel like I paid for premium and got junk on more than just the tires and wheels but that's another story.

Another Tire Story

Sunday I was on the interstate in heavy traffic around Buffalo,NY. Suddenly people were pulling up along side me and pointing. I had no idea what they wanted until I looked back and saw the smoke and sparks. The tire blew and wound around the rim stopping the wheel from turning. I was dragging the wheel and making heat and sparks. It happened very fast and I ruined the wheel. The funny thing is, the truck was so stable and powerful I didn't know anything was going on in back. I always thought that if I got a blowout on the trailer it would be very difficult to handle or control.
I might invest in some tire pressure monitors for the trailer. I managed to get it changed but now had to risk driving the rest of the way to New Hampshire without a spare. The 5ver is a 2011 Cameo. It came with Chinese Duro tires. I didn't realize that the wheel was also Chinese until I got the flat.

RE: Buy new wheel

16inch Looks just like stock.
my personal favorite: 17.5inch
Both can be bought with tires already mounted and balanced.
Very good company and great service.
Thanks,
I looked them up and they have an exact match!

Anyone know of an online store that sells wheels? I need a replacement wheel for my Carriage 5ver and I don't want to go to the dealer.

The Alamo and Riverwalk

Hi all,
We are in Bandera, Tx and are looking to visit The Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio. Can anyone tell me a good route to get near there and where we could safely park my dually pickup? I have heard that some of the paid parking spots are very tight and not good for the wide pickup. Any advice is appreciated.

Anyone else having problems with the shower? Other than the shower, love the unit. KB
My shower leaks on my 2011 35sb3. I'm going to try to fix it myself.

We are staying in Rockport at the Lagoon RV Park. Do you know of any good Mexican or Steak restaurants in the area. We don't want seafood. Thanks.
