RE: new mountaineer front livingroom, anyone see it

Here's why you lose basement storage (the basement, of course, is underneath the front bedroom or front LR):
In front bedroom units, the bed slide mechanism is on top of the floor, underneath the bed. This is possible, since most of the bed is still in the room when the slide is out and there is not much weight on the slide when out. Also, the slide out doesn't have to be too tall.
In front LR models, you have have tall, opposing slides that carry substantial weight and the slide rails/mechanisms have to be under the floor. Since the basement is underneath, you will lose some of that space to the mechanisms.
Now that makes all the sense in the world.I never thought of that.Thanks.Still looking for a general price on it.

new mountaineer front livingroom, anyone see it

I am a current owner of a 2010 Mountaineer and have been happy, saw that they have a new 375 flf or front livingroom,it is a little different than the Montana's 3750fl.I was wondering if anyone has seen one at a show yet and if so how much was the price. Can't find one on rvtrader or anywhere else. Was wondering and interested in it.Does anyone know why the front living room fvers all seem to be short on outside storage, would think that they are on the basic same frame as any other fver.Just wondering why that would be.

RE: coast to coast membership?

They're certainly less than obvious about how much it costs. What is buying a membership 'via resale' mean? You can buy them from another owner, mine went for origionaly from I don't know how long ago,for $6442,from what I understand is that they could be bought up to 3 generations, which could be passed down to family members, but if you sold it then it would lose a generation,so if Grandma and grampa bought a 3 generation and passed it to his kid,his kid would have it for himself, and if he wanted to pass it to his kid.If grandpa sold it then it would lose a generation,go from a 3 to a 2 and so on until it gets to a 1 generation which means it can't be sold again.Mine is now only 1 generation so that is why it was so cheap,I can't hand it down to my kid.

RE: coast to coast membership?

C2C
Been using them, RPI & AOR for almost 5yrs.
Great IF you full time OR use them frequently.
Hope you bought your home park membership via resale!Yes I did,got it for $500.Maintance fee of 300 a year and a resort only 10 miles from home, and camp for free, stay on for 2 weeks and then off 1 and back on 2 weeks.I will get my money out of it.But was wondering the perks of the coast to coast that came with it.It says on my paperwork that is is not a rpi or a deluxe, what are the differences in them?

RE: ford diesel smoking when cold?

:S been there and just got it fixed!:S You have a bad FICM. That the injector control modul located under the coolent overflow tank. It amps up the voltage to the spool valves that control the injectors. Ford/IH ramp the voltage up when the engine is cold. Overtime the modula gets weaker and lead to poor to no starts in cold weather and slow warm ups. My truck refused to start in 30 F weather and when i did get it started a couple days later in 40 degree weather it smoked like a crazy. I thought Glow plugs but it took all of 5 min for the shop to rule them out and show me the code for the modula. Fix that and darn if it is like I have a whole new truck. Its plan to see now the modula has been bad for at least a year or more. Dealer said 95% of the time you don't evern notice until cold weather.
Ford dealer will charge you about 800 for a new one or 450 to rebuid yours. There are about a dozen of guys on line that will do it for 150 to 300 with a couple day turnaround. Had the injector module go out a little over a year ago so don't think it is it,also had the egr replaced. It is intermittent and seems to only do it in the mornings, won't do it after it sits at work for 9 hrs,its a little blueish in color.

ford diesel smoking when cold?

I have a 6.0 ltr ford diesel.I noticed that it smokes only sometimes when it cold out.even if I let the truck warm up for some time it seems to smoke at like 1500rpms a white color sometimes. Not all the time but sometimes.Never did it until it got colder, like in the 20-35 degree range so far.Is it the fuel or is something going on.Usualy only does it a short time, after I run down the street for a couple of blocks it seems to go away.Am I paraniod or is something going on.It doesn't miss or run bad.It is an 06 with lots of miles.Just change the oil and filters and fuel filters,I noticed it before I changed the oil so it isn't just an oil change.

RE: What just happened?

Yes I have been there 2 times,1st went to a local rv show, you know late winter and needed to get out of the house.Well after trading in our 06 ht trailer on a new 08 32ft travel trailer we needed a truck to haul it,my wife got the expedition I got the trailer,ha,ha,ha.Fast forward 2 years and just went to kill another afternoon at the dealership and left with a new 2010 345 Mountaineer 5ver,oh and another truck to pull it.This was my pickup though so I guess it is her 5ver.That made for 3 trailers in 4 years.I'm done now,I swear I am,hey anyone know when the next rv show is?

RE: Better pulling- TT or 5W??

I have been down both roads,I heard all the talk about how wonderful the 5vers pull and just figured it to be talk from the 5ver guys, that was until I traded to a 5ver and 1st pull was like night and day.The 5ver is by far way nicer to pull.Hookup and unhooking is much nicer than cracking your shins with the bars. That realy smarts.5vers will have more storage than most tt's.You do loose some of the truck bed for storage.
