RE: Modern travel trailers that will not break the bank?

I my opinion,an airstream is no better built than an average trailer.I have several friends that have spent $60000 on thier new airstream and have nothing but trouble with them.Just my opinion.

RE: :-{ so sad,and mad!

So....what's keeping you from hitching up and going camping? De-winterizing takes about a half hour and another half hour to winterize again when you come back. I did just that a little bit ago but it was a weekend, kids are in school so going during the week is out.Come on spring, come on spring.

grove united memorial day soccer tourney, anyone?

If this needs to be moved please do,I was not sure where to post it.My son is playing in the Schaumber Illinios memorial day tourney.I have a question if anyone has been to that tourney,it is rather large as some 350 teams from all over the country and as far as England come play.I was wondering if anyone on this forum has been to it.It is for kids.If you have been there did you notice any campers set up.I have an email to the director and haven't heard anything from him.I figure I might get a quicker answer from someone familiar to this tourney..Thanks if you do.

RE: changing out recliners for a sofa/bed?

Wife and I talked about this, just like when searching for our current 5ver just 2 years ago.We are leaning toward staying with our bunkhouse, just wish it had a bigger living room.

RE: changing out recliners for a sofa/bed?

The problem I see is with recliners in rear area you have to turn them sideways in order to close slide(s).....sofa bed probably will not fit and have enough clearance for slide(s) If you look at the floorplan it will make sense.I may not be able to go with a full couch but a love seat type of couch will work. The floorplan has a L shape couch with a blow up bed and 2 recliner on the opposite slide, next to the table and chairs.Does that make sense?

RE: changing out recliners for a sofa/bed?

First problem I see is that if you replace the recliners with a sofa bed, you won't be able to extend the sofa bed in the slide out; they'll hit each other. May be better off with a free-standing dinette that you can move around and stack the chairs, then put a blow-up mattress on the floor. The other alternative would be if you could swap places with the dinette and the sofa bed, but you might extend too far into the kitchen area. Oh, here's another one. Might get a daybed style sofa to replace the recliners.
LyleI checked into the 2 sofa's opposite sides, they don't go further than half way width ways,so in theory 2 sofa/beds opposite each other should fit just fine.I won't go back to a dinette again so that is out.Wife and I love the free standing table and chairs. They give a camper a homey fell and we just love that.

changing out recliners for a sofa/bed?

If you have followed my "help,rv show" thread you know that I have an ich.Went last night and found only a Jayco Pinacle that my wife and I liked only not in my specs for truck and pocketbook.Thought I was out of the woods until looking again on the internet tonight and found a 35rlts that is very close to the pinacle we saw at the show.Problem is it fits in pocketbook and truck specs. Now for the real question, how many families have a rear living room and kids.I currently have a bunkhouse for the kids,8,10,12 years old.I was wondering if I replaced the 2 recliners with a couch/bed and the other couch would I be able to sleep the kids or how much of a hassle is it to sleep them in the livingroom?I know how it all would work, just wondering how many do it in a rear livingroom and do they wish the kids had thier own room as in my current setup.

RE: NEED HELP,please help me this weekend.

Ok,an update, went thursday night, found only the Jayco Pinacle 36reqs.Wife and I loved it.Thank god it was like $67000,and to much for weight for me to pull.Dodged a bullet on that one, only to find the Jayco Eagle makes a 35rlts that is pretty darn close to the Pinacle layout.Just not as fancy, with a price I am comfortable with and the weights that work for my truck. What to do now, just need to find a way to get the wife back to the show and spring it on her. That is if the snow stops and I don't have to work all day......I would change out the 2 recliners for another sofa, bed for the kids.I could be in trouble...

RE: new mountaineer front livingroom, anyone see it

Here's why you lose basement storage (the basement, of course, is underneath the front bedroom or front LR):
In front bedroom units, the bed slide mechanism is on top of the floor, underneath the bed. This is possible, since most of the bed is still in the room when the slide is out and there is not much weight on the slide when out. Also, the slide out doesn't have to be too tall.
In front LR models, you have have tall, opposing slides that carry substantial weight and the slide rails/mechanisms have to be under the floor. Since the basement is underneath, you will lose some of that space to the mechanisms.
Now that makes all the sense in the world.I never thought of that.Thanks.Still looking for a general price on it.

new mountaineer front livingroom, anyone see it

I am a current owner of a 2010 Mountaineer and have been happy, saw that they have a new 375 flf or front livingroom,it is a little different than the Montana's 3750fl.I was wondering if anyone has seen one at a show yet and if so how much was the price. Can't find one on rvtrader or anywhere else. Was wondering and interested in it.Does anyone know why the front living room fvers all seem to be short on outside storage, would think that they are on the basic same frame as any other fver.Just wondering why that would be.

RE: coast to coast membership?

They're certainly less than obvious about how much it costs. What is buying a membership 'via resale' mean? You can buy them from another owner, mine went for origionaly from I don't know how long ago,for $6442,from what I understand is that they could be bought up to 3 generations, which could be passed down to family members, but if you sold it then it would lose a generation,so if Grandma and grampa bought a 3 generation and passed it to his kid,his kid would have it for himself, and if he wanted to pass it to his kid.If grandpa sold it then it would lose a generation,go from a 3 to a 2 and so on until it gets to a 1 generation which means it can't be sold again.Mine is now only 1 generation so that is why it was so cheap,I can't hand it down to my kid.

RE: coast to coast membership?

C2C
Been using them, RPI & AOR for almost 5yrs.
Great IF you full time OR use them frequently.
Hope you bought your home park membership via resale!Yes I did,got it for $500.Maintance fee of 300 a year and a resort only 10 miles from home, and camp for free, stay on for 2 weeks and then off 1 and back on 2 weeks.I will get my money out of it.But was wondering the perks of the coast to coast that came with it.It says on my paperwork that is is not a rpi or a deluxe, what are the differences in them?
