RE: Splendide Washer/Dryer

We are fulltimers and could not survive without our 2100. We have the vented version and I hear that the unvented version dries much slower.

RE: Dually or Single Rear Wheel for towing

X2 Dually = two more tires to buy and you can't rotate the ones you have. :) No offense to the "gotta have a diesel dually to pull a fiver" crowd.

RE: caulking

Dicor This is the best for RV's. Silicone will not adhere to the existing caulk and must be completely removed to use Dicor.

RE: Use of Vented Tailgates

The Mythbusters test was with truck only, no trailer involved. They reasoned that a vortex was created in the truck bed with the gate up, that actually reduced the weight of the truck. I think the louvered tailgate help with airflow around the front of a 5er, thereby reducing drag.

RE: flojet macerator pumps

We have to use ours a lot doing volunteer work and would not be without one. Never use a 1/2" hose, anything 5/8" and above will work fine. If you need to pump this is the way to go.

RE: Gas mileage question

5er and tow in signature 10-12 mpg towing and have got 19 mpg single. Tow speed at 62-63 mph towing and speed limit (70) single.

RE: cannot find Brookstone in NADA book

We purchase the Brookstone in my sig. July 2010 and have been fulltiming in it since then. We found the fit & finish to be well ahead of other campers we looked at. We purchased ours in Rockwood, TN at Boat-N-RV. we have had only minor problems non having to go back to the dealer for repair. We did replace the standard RV faucets in the bathroom and kitchen with good quality ones from Lowes.

RE: sewer odor

It also could be Propane odor. I had what I thought was sewer odor inside and in the basement. I was really frustrated until DW said she smelled propane. I then checked all connections and finally found the connection to the stove to be slightly loose by maybe a 1/4 turn or less. After tightening we have had no more "sewer/propane" smell.

RE: 09 Cameo toilet pedal

Mine did the same thing and continued to fall off. Just replace it.

RE: Flo Jet waste pump - macerator

We pump all the time using 5/8" hose from 50 to 100 ft with no problems.

RE: transfer flow tank

Take a look at the Titan replacement tank. It replaces your original tank and leaves your bed empty. I have the short box truck and the Titan tank increased my fuel capacity from 26 to 52 gallons and all of the DIC functions still work. The only thing that you have to remember is the "range to empty" indication has to be doubled. I can still multiply by 2 in my head so I'm good to go. X3

RE: Bridge Clearance

So far my Garmin 475T has not taken me anywhere I could not go while in the "truck" mode. There is a book that truckers use but I don't have the info now. Maybe someone else will chime in with that info.

RE: HELP with Hydro Flame 8525-11

I think the OP is saying there is only 7 volts going into the control board. As suggested I would look for a corroded or loose connection such as at a connector or terminal. It could even be at the fuse box area.

RE: Checking Account address problems

Our address is at the UPS Store. Our drivers license, bank, voter registration, vehicle reg. and Edward Jones all are happy with this address. It is a real address and everyone is happy including me. I also think you need to change brokers.

RE: Auxilliary Fuel tank

We were coming through Birmingham, AL in the rain with road construction and needed to get fuel. Well with the rain I turned one exit too soon, I assumed I could just get back on I65 but NO they had the entrance ramp closed! I had to take surface streets until I could get back to I65 and go back to the exit for FlyingJ. I was cutting it pretty close on fuel, so out with the 26 gal tank and in with the Titan 52 gal replacement tank. I know I may not recover the cost, but I never have to worry about stopping when I get to 200 miles. It is just peace of mind when I travel.

RE: Replacing carpet in fifth wheel

We had our carpet replaced in our 2004 Keystone Challenger with new carpet and a real pad. It sure was nice. We also replaced the vinyl in the kitchen with engineered hardwood that is 3/8 of an inch thick, so it matched the level of the old flooring. I have heard of others installing Alure but I have never actually done it.

RE: Montana lighting question

See if they can be turned off using the remote. If they were accidently turned on using the remote, they can't be turned off unless the remote is used. X3
