RE: wi-fi connection for lap top

We have been in Montana where the Missouri flows south to north and nary a cell signal till the smooth talker is fired up, same thing in southern Colorado but no Missouri River but maybe the Rio Grande, same thing across Monument Vally but no rivers. The smooth talker allows us to get service in some of the most out of the way places. Works with 3G or 4G phones and again we only pay for one line of service a data package. Black Berry is encrypted but I think the Verizon wifi is not encrypted but rather is password protected.

RE: Bidder's criminal record raises questions in Winnebago offer

I agree and most of them are crooks. The guy that suckered JP Morgan on the $2B had a previous record and that does not count Jimmy Boy Whiner about over regulations. Oh well the inmates are taking over.
So, how is the "bidder's record" much different than a lot of the sports figures and/or politicians....:h:h:h:h....boy! talk about stretching.....JMHO....Dennis

RE: wi-fi connection for lap top

SMOOTHTALKER
We always use a smooth talker and tether our Blackberry Bold to the BB play book and/or laptop. Still only paying for one data package.
Works like a charm and you are not fighting every one else for the band width.
We are in a State Park in Louisiana and the Internet is TOO SLOOOOW! Is there an inexpensive way to boost our connection or get an inexpensive wi-fi service? Thanks

RE: Why do I feel like appoligizing....??

We in general do not tell folks about our RV trips unless they ask. To practice full disclosure we do have a limited group of friends and fellow RVers that we send trip reports to. We get trip reports from folks that go on cruises, fly to vacation spots and whatever. We have some friends that think RVing is one of the most stupid things you can do. I tell them flying and driving is one of the most stupid ways to take a vacation. Now if I had a plane big enough to take my car then I might consider flying and driving.
Help me pick one

RE: Insurance Question

Makes no difference to us as all things are insured by the same company and the umbrella policy established the underlying coverage for each vehicle.
Do you have different insurance companies?
An interesting insurance question popped into my mind. This is purely hypothetical of course.
Scenario One:
You are happily motoring down the road and, in the process of making a turn the toad sideswiped a parked car or ???? No contact with the MH just the toad. Which policy covers the damage??? The toads liability or the MH assuming they are separate policies.
Scenario Two:
The toad brakes looses as the result of misfortune and damages property or injures some one. Same question, which policy would would be liable?

RE: Best tire pressure monitoring system

Unless we have used more than one system we can give you any comparison data. We we want a system to do you may feel is unimportant. Best decision you made is to get one. We have only used one system
TPMS
We're looking for the best tire pressure monitoring system for our Class A and its toad. By "best" we mean the most accurate, dependable and trustworthy; price here isn't an issue. Realizing that everything in life is ultimately subjective :R we'd love to hear what systems are recommended by RV.Net members.
Many thanks in advance.

RE: CC Whats it worth?

Take it engine manufacture shop and have them run a complete diagnostic and then do the same thing with an Allison dealer. Then start thinking about making an offer.
Am looking at an 06 Country Coach Magna 525 42' at a camping world. Coach is a bit funky in that its 42' not 45' and has a queen bed instead of a king. Its got 50,000 miles on it which I take to be a good thing as its been used not sat around for years.
So the million dollar question is. What would a very good price on this coach be? I'm not in a hurry want to make sure I don't get to hurt when we re-sell it in a 3-4 years.
Thanks!

RE: Satellite Signal problems

You are correct and I failed to suggest it. Always check every connection and fuze. I sometimes replace the fuze even if it does not look bad because I have had failed fuze that were had to see.
Thanks for posting fix.
Thanks to all for your suggestions. After troubleshooting everything one more time, it turns out it was a bad cable connector from the satellite to the receiver. Once we changed out the cable, it works fine.

RE: Satellite Signal problems

Are you sure you have the correct antenna cable hooked up to the receiver as we have three. one for satellite antenna, one for over the air antenna, and one for cable from the RV park. You must hook the satellite cable to the receiver input side. Then the receiver out put side must go to the TV or if you have one a switching station that will allow you to select what you want to see. One for the front TV one for the rear TV and one for the DVD recorder. each station will have three push buttons again one for the satellite and one for the DVD and one for regular TV(over the air or cable)that routes the signal to the TV. Make sure any selection switch is set for cable.
Last question how do you know that the satellite is finding the signal?
We have a 2007 Winnebago Sightseer with a roof top satellite dish.
The satellite appears to find the signal, however, non of the TV's are picking up the signal. I brought the HDTV that we carry with us in the house and hooked it up to the receiver that we take with us. The TV works fine in the house. But when I put it and the receiver back in the RV, the tv not receiving the signal. The inverter is set to satellite for all tv's. Any ideas of what the problem could be and how to troubleshoot will be appreciated.

RE: Lazydays sales

Put a big sign on both side of you car and park it in a eye catching location.
I am so dumb I fell for the oldest sales trick in the books. In the process of buying a motorhome from Lazydays in Tampa. We found some problems that we wanted fix before we bought. The sales men said" we will have more leverage with service if we have a signed sales contract" They even gave me a "we owe you" paper. they will fix the problems after you have paid them but on their own time frame. After you pay you have no leverage. It has been 10 days now and still no RV.
How could I been soo dumb?

RE: Newmar Dutch Star/Spartan DP Radiator

Take it to a company that works on oil field trucks for repair.
Hello, I have the above 1998 motorhome and the rad started leaking :( So I pulled it out and took it to the local rad shop to check out. So my question is, if it can't be fixed - does anybody have a good referral for a new rad?
Thanks

RE: poorly done ad by Newell

I would not worry as they sell every rig that they can manufacture.
Just noticed the back cover of the May issue of FMCA magazine. Newell always buys the back cover space. This month they show their coach driving down a beautiful country road in what appears to be the Swiss Alps. Only problen is they were too cheap to actually take a coach there for the photo shoot. Obvious photo shop picture.
Newell, Cheesy.
