RE: Social Security Cards Now Required to buy with a check?

On the back of my credit cards instead of signing I write SEE ID. When I use my card I am always asked for my picture ID. I have seen folks get really upset when presenting a credit card and being asked for ID, I usually beat the cashier by letting the idiot know it's for their protection.
As for being asked for SSN, I just went through this in Yuma while getting my internet connected with Century Link. At their office the gentleman was inputting the info when he asked for my SSN, I asked why and his response was if I don't give it there would be a $50.00 deposit. So I gave it and he input it wrong and the machine required the 50 buck deposit. When he input it again correctly the deposit was not required. So, it appears that they ran a credit report on me and the wrong SSN did not match the name.
The stores are within their legal rights to refuse to accept your credit card if you write ask for "ID" instead of signing the card...Federal Banking Law. But if you sign it and write that on the back then they have to accept the card.

RE: AAA is now charging for DMV renewals........

I don't see why they shouldn't charge a renewal fee for the service they provide.
If the people are that cheap that they don't want to pay a $4.00 fee, they can always go online and renew their vehicle registration at look here for free.
It's fast it's easy and it's free!

RE: Resolved-Need help with Trojan masked as a FedEx Agent File

Side note.....There is also the same Malware/Trojan going around as a delivery attempt from USPS
Even my Anti-Spam/Anti Virus stopped it and blocked it as unknown script.

RE: CPAP mask

The ones that I use are a ResMed Swift LT and a ResMed Swift, which I have found to be the two that I like the best.
I tried a mask several times but never got used to them so stick with the nasal pillows, but it might be partially the fact that I have a beard so the masks never seal that good.... and you I have tried without the beard but then my face was always cold so grew it back :)
You might check with some of the local home oxygen places, if they are like the ones here they have different masks etc that you can rent or borrow.
I use the same nasal pillow from ResMed both the Swift and the Swift LT. I like the Swift Mirage myself, and have used them for several years now.
As to trying local DME's make sure you have a copy of your prescription with you. Also you can buy them online here for one After you find one that you like to use.
Good Luck

RE: Calif. State Parks to Be Closed July 1, 2012

Many of the ones listed were/are underused so it's no surprise they will be shuttered. What's a shame though is like many things Kalifornia, it's simply a knee jerk reaction because the lawmakers continue to feed at the trough. It's unbelievable they can't create their budget on time but continue to receive their daily stipends while they argue. That said, what's a shame is because it's a knee jerk reaction, I am sure those parks that will be shuttered will fall in disrepair and most likely never reopen. The rhetoric will be that it will cost too much to rehab them once they are closed. There are many people who would love to volunteer as campground hosts in many of these parks that would provide minimal security and clean up, but California can't see the forest through the trees....sad....Dennis

RE: Calif. State Parks to Be Closed July 1, 2012

What really seems funny is the Legislator's (aka elected clowns) wanted to add a $8.00 fee to all vehicle registrations for that money the state parks were to remain open. They put it on the ballot the people of Taxifornia aka California voted it down.:h
So then sometime last year they went ahead and added a new $12.00 fee anyway. :S

RE: I have sinned!

Did You Have a Thanksgiving Hangover
The result of eating too much on Thanksgiving, and feeling like **** the next morning.
Person 1: I have a major Thanksgiving hangover right now.
Person 2: Yeah, me too, I ate so much yesterday.
No I think there were a lot of people that seriously committed the sin of gluttony :W
I did the same on Friday instead of Thanksgiving Day. The turkey sure was better than a 6in Subway sandwich......they get a little old when you have eaten enough of them to loose over 100 pounds.

RE: Paypal and Firefox

O.K. I was finally dragged scratching and screaming into establishing a PayPal account, but ran into problems with a credit card payment option that I solved by switching to I.E. which I really don't like.
Question is there a way to make Firefox (my version is 3.6.xx) compatible with PayPal or will I have to stick with I.E. when dealing with PayPal.
Keep it simple since I can be "techno" challenged in these type of discussions.
Thank in advance,
Larry
Larry
I use Pay Pal with FF-8.0 if you upgrade to the newest ver.FF8.0 of Firefox you will not have any problems and you will not have to use the other (you fill it in) to connect with your Pay Pal Account.

RE: Digital television...

Isn't it wonderful!
No, not that I can see!
Tried to watch Shrek tonight.
Keyword: TRIED TO!
very windy outside. tv picture is pixelated, breaks up, stops and starts, loses signal, then begins again.
So much of the story line is lost, it is completely unwatchable.
No, it is NOT my antenna, because my antenna is not out in the wind, nor is any of my coax!
A couple of local channels are still available in analog format, but the one I want to watch is not one of them!
Oh, yeah, digital was a VAST improvement. NOT!!
What gives you that idea....I have a 2005 RV, in my RV the TV runs off of 12vdc. In order to watch the TV with the decoder box, I need to run an inverter or be hooked to shore power. Or I can buy a 12vdc digital TV for over 300 green backs. NOT :M
I also have Direct TV, but it's a bigger pain in the backside than it's worth to watch while I'm Boondocking. There is always XM or even Ham Radio, or I can listen to short wave radio. :h :S
Or even read a book on the Kindle....What a revelation that is! :W

RE: Adding fresh water & waste water capacity

Sounds like a good idea. I would really take the weight issues into consideration before you modify your unit. You can purchase a portable water bladder from CW, so you wouldn't have some of the weight, while towing your TT,
Grey water and black water tanks I would look here to start
Hope this helps.

Dometic Refrigerator Problem ?

Had problems getting the Dometic Refrigerator to Light, etc. etc. Long Story Short....two weeks ago had the check light come on on the control panel. When I got home from our week end trip, I took it and had the burner cleaned and the unit checked out. Now it lights first time every time. Now it has started cycling itself the burner will click and relight, any suggestions maybe the circuit board or the re-igniter is bad and is going out? Or could it be the flame sensor?
Thanks for any suggestions. I called the place that repaired it before we left (from Quartzsite AZ) and I could hear the dollar signs rolling in his eyes, and he hadn't even looked at it. I was wondering if it's something I could fix. When I have had problems with the propane before I took the RV into a service center.
There are some things I can repair but when it comes to LP Gas I'm a little gun shy.

RE: Anybody settled in at Quartzsite yet ??

To nina_7 or anyone else that can answer. Can you get TV reception from an antenna out at Dome Rock? Thanks
We were in the Road Runner Area, (at mile-marker 99) there were two RV's that had their crank up TV antennas up. Also there were a couple wit Sat dishes out, your guess is as good as mine.:h
There were people there but not not a lot of people yet.:) We were there from Tuesday and came back home on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) due to refrigerator problems. :M
