RE: Dometic Fridge works on gas not electric

I have power where the fridge plugs into the outlet, I checked with my two prong meter thingie. I am going to ask a neighbor if I can borrow a fancier meter.

RE: Dometic Fridge works on gas not electric

120 VAC works, all I have to check with is the plug in. I don't know how to operate the other kind (had one once, but never could understand the thing). What does the control board look like?

Dometic Fridge works on gas not electric

My fairly new Dometic 2410 just stopped working on electric yesterday so I switched over to propane last night and it works fine in that mode. Anyone have something that I can try before taking it to the repairman (which is quite a distance from where I am located). Thanks!

Spending summer in New Mexico

Anyone here do this? Bounce around from State Park to State Park in the higher elevations to escape the heat (with that $225 pass)? Are their some cooler camping spots in any of the National Parks? What places do you recommend? Are any of them green? Keep in mind I can't stand hot weather.

RE: Spray in truck liners

I have the old Toyota MH and there is much discussion on their sites of using this application as roof coating. I hear it is a sure cure for hard to find leaks.

RE: Western Kentucky Parkway

Thanks Jim! Valuable information especially since I have a 13.7 gal gas tank and an RV that gets 11-12mpg.

Has anyone been down this path? I am heading south to Hot Springs AR and thought maybe I would take this. Just curious how the pavement and scenery is.

Cincinnati to Port Arthur TX...what to see and what to avoid

Hello, I am looking for interesting sites, routes and parks. I like to avoid big cities and expensive camping spots. I love the National Parks and Forests and also the small municipal run campgrounds. I am ok with major highways, but like the secondary roads too. And advise will be greatly appreciated.....both places to see and places to avoid. I have no time limit.

RE: Anyone Camping in Pa.

PA Tpk is really rough on an RV so I have been told by more than one RVer. I am not sure how I-83 is South of Harrisburg, try the 511PA.org website, I would think it is all open by now. I left Harrisburg via US 15 to US 322 and am now at a small city campground in Burnham for a couple nights (they were in the process of closing, but opened up just for me....W/E 30 amp & hot showers for $19/night). I have been told that the roads are clear from here up to I-80.

RE: Anyone Camping in Pa.

Easton to Allentown is just fine! Tomorrow I am venturing over to Harrisburg via 78, I have been told by my hostess that I can make it fine. Still am not sure how to go NW after that to Indiana and how to get to I80.

Allentown PA to Ft. Wayne IN leaving soon

With all this flooding I don't know what is the best way to go! I want to leave on Sunday, maybe it won't be so bad then. Also someone said that the Penn Turnpike is super rough and miserable to drive on. Let me know what you think.

RE: Looking for a road map with grades and elevation

The Trailer Life CD will give you the grades along a route.
All I could find was their campground directory.

Looking for a road map with grades and elevation

Anyone know of a good internet site showing roads and highways with elevation and grades? I have an old Toyota V6 and am a bit afraid to go over steep mountains and yet want to see the Northwest.

RE: a snowbird question

Probably wont leave till after New Years. -snip- When we are home for the season its mostly about grandkids and other peoples problems. Even though we are retired its really a nice long "vacation". We always look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
Getting away from all the "home base" things and relaxing as we would be too far away to do anythng about their problems.
That is what we were wondering about going South even if we don't go to Arizona or Mexico ..
Had been wondering if others felt the same way ... thanx.
Finally a couple folks who touched on the reasons for my excitement....escaping my "normal" life (Drs visits, friends problems although I love them) and being somewhere where nobody knows me and I don't know no one....the anonymity of it all....the sense of freedom I get out there on the open road....meeting new people....seeing new places....having new experiences.

RE: Are there forums for solo private campsites?

I once found a spot like that on eBay, I rented it for a week in Florida. Paid via PayPal and he sent me gate code via email. Nice upscale park for $150/wk.

RE: Vermont Roads after Irene

I am in North East VT and plan on heading South next week, seems I can get to Burlington OK, then I will take the Ferry across to NY and head South on I87. Usually I take VT I91, which is ok, but then it would be hard to go West. I am heading to PA. NY doesn't list any closures on their traffic website. I hope these site have it right....I know for certain that one road closure on Vermont's website had it wrong for a couple days.
