RE: Cost of having AIR conditioning ON?????

It may cost more to open the windows instead, like in a car.

RE: Same money, older higher end coach or newer not as nice one

Its like the difference between the most expensive room at a cheap hotel versus the least expensive room at the most expensive hotel. You still get all the "extras" in the high end model for the same price. I would suggest it is more like going to a new constructed budget priced hotel with a nice TV and a good pool versus going to an old, outdated, former luxury hotel in need of a renovation. When going to hotels, I often pick the newest one. Clean and modern with much less plaque. Plus the new budget hotels have very nice beds & free Internet.

RE: Wow... tire prices. And 16 vs 18 ply?

They use Michelins on the space shuttle. I'll stick to my Michelins. Look what happened to the space shuttle program....

RE: Fluid Leaking From Rear Wheel

We had the same leak and had the gasket replaced at Freightliner for $125.

RE: Same money, older higher end coach or newer not as nice one

We chose brand new low end. We never buy used autos.

RE: Best black water chemical?

The Geomethod does not work as well as Thetford's Aqua-Chem for us.

RE: Class A Only Resort free stay offers: YES or NO

Actually we are referring to the ownership lots. The sales pitches are mostly light, but sometimes we still feel a little guilty when we're probably not in the market. I think prices are lower than 2004 now, Motorcoach County Club in Indio, CA had a lot listed at $49K this past year, and it sold. Signature Resort Naples had brand new lots auctioned off at $20k in 2011.

Class A Only Resort free stay offers: YES or NO

I get a lot of free stay offers at Class A Only resorts, many times for a week. Whenever I go I have a great time, and get repeat offers to return. However I also feel bad about taking advantage of these offers because I'm really not sure I would want to buy one of these lots right now. How do you feel about these offers: do you go? My other half prefers not to go and would rather pay...

RE: Denied entrance in OC MD, Their Park Their Rules Their Loss

I'm sure Castaways knows what restrictions make the most sense for them - their business is so awesome they are charging $100+ for their premium sites.

RE: Castaways vs. Frontiertown

We have been to both and prefer Castaways because we do not have kids, only a dog, and only Castaways has a dog beach. Castaways also has more 50 amp full hookup sites because every site is. Frontier Town seems older and more rustic, but water park great for kids.

RE: Family friendly site around Pigeon Forge, TN

I also recommend Pine Mountain for the kids because they have a huge splash pool, lazy river pool, indoor pool, and regular outdoor pool, and trolley station, as mentioned above already. There is also a small creek at the campground that the kids can play in and large grass field. And location is close to it all.

RE: Question about previous owner and a part

I would rather pay Winnie $600 than pay $100 to the greedy previous owner.

RE: Rudeness at River Reflections in Oroville, CA

I think all the Yogi parks I know charge a strict visitor's fee and actively enforce, which is why we don't return.

RE: Denied entrance in OC MD, Their Park Their Rules Their Loss

Castaways has a dog beach AND a dog park, so insurance is probably very picky. We were there two weeks ago, and they made photo copies of our golden retriever's rabies tags. I'm guessing many insurance companies and many dog owners who use the dog parks are afraid of dobermans and support Castaways' decision to turn you away. Luckily there are other parks to choose from, even if not many.

RE: RV to the beach?

We RV to the beach all the time too - no worse than driving car to beach - no big deal.

RE: Washington DC area campgrounds

Lived here almost 30 years, Cherry Hill is the only choice for convenient 50 amp full-hookup camping.
