RE: One Final Check

What year is the AF? Depending on the year of the camper, GM trucks don't have the issues with roof clearance like Fords do. If your AF is new, or even a few years old, it should not be a problem. I've seen 2010 AF campers on the new body style truck, and there's mega roof to camper overhang clearance.

RE: One Final Check

One other question, should I inflate the rear tires to 80 psi just before loading the camper? GM Duallys that are the new body style specify 60 psi on the rear tires. Check the sticker inside your door to be sure that's what your truck says too.

RE: Camper box and wings

While at Home Depot the other day I saw some Rustoleum spray on sealant - it was designed as stuff to use to seal rain gutters and what not. Rather than "undercoat" style stuff, it was rubbery and flexible, a lot like the stuff you'd dip tools in to coat the handles with rubber. I bought a can. I didn't buy it to use on the camper, but after reading your post, I think I will use it on the wings.

RE: Exterior lighting

Lights These are lights designed for Emergency Services - and there is no big hole to cut - just a hole for the wiring. These look pretty good. Any idea where to get them and how much they cost? I found them here, but they aren't cheap - nearly $400. http://trafficsafetysystem.com/fire-research-corp-led-lighting.html That's the thing about all products manufactured for EV use - they are really expensive.

RE: Exterior lighting

Here's another headlight option It focuses from spot to flood. It also has some little LEDs for not messing up your night vision. http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/images/accessories/eg/hl-100/hl100_xl.jpg

RE: Getting my car in the Toy Hauler

Doubtful that any RV, unless it's on a commercial truck chassis will be suitable, and built for the long haul, to haul that much weight in the cargo area. The ramp probably won't hold that much weight either.

RE: LED light conversion

... Does anybody know of a company that might have a better price per light? .. RV LED Lights Much easier to install than anything with a wire doo-hickey on it.

RE: Do we really need LEDs in the camper

Get these: http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/rv/RV-T10-wedge-252.htm I'm using the same thins in the 1141 version, and have been using them for almost three years now, they are very nice. I like the warm white color - they are very similar in brightness to an 1141 incandescent. the 921 LED should be comparable to the 921 incandescent as well.

RE: 12V light bulbs - HOT

THESE LEDs have the same lumens as the 921s and are warm white. No measurable heat and about 1/10th the current draw. I'm running that same LED in my stove hood.... Here's a picture of it: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb301/yeah-right/led-mod/2010-04-13201201.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb301/yeah-right/led-mod/2010-04-13201220.jpg

RE: LED bulbs in camper

OK, so it was time for some more LED upgrades to my rig. I wanted a super bright LED for the outside, and opted for the 420 Lumen bright (cool) white LED It is perfect!! Here's a picture of it installed in my porch light: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb301/yeah-right/led-mod/IMG_3400.jpg http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb301/yeah-right/led-mod/IMG_3401.jpg

RE: LED side markers

I replaced all my marker lights lights with these lights, which are totally sealed units. http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/images/led/cm/M23015R/M23015R-175.jpg Somewhere I have some pictures showing the installation, but I can't find them at the moment. The mount using the same hole pattern as the stock lights, which was 3" between the holes, and are the exact same foot print. EDIT: go to the bottom of this page to get a sale price - just found that link while looking around on the LED site.

RE: Back Up Lights

I did such an upgrade on a previous RV and used some big LED work lights, I wanted LED due to the low power draw. The lights I used were these: LED Work Lights

RE: My LEDs

LEDs I bought from here are doing very well. I've been running them since the middle of 2009. I ordered a few more after seeing they are having a sale right now until the end of the year.
