RE: tube out of the back of the refrigerator

I find that I have good luck by just inserting the end of the hose into a pop can with the top cut off in the back of the fridge area. That way warm air doesn't go up the pipe and the condensate evaporates fast enough to maintain a low water level in the can. Solves the warm air, bugs & ugly external look. I check once in a while and the can usually has enough water to cover the end of the hose, but has never overflowed.... :) Hey! works for me.... :)

RE: PowerGear electric jack issues

Haven't taken the time to read all the posts on fixing them, but I have found that most of the moisture that causes the problem enters through the wiring entry on the side of the motor and runs down the wiring inside to the top of the brake and on inside the brake. Leaks from the boot are on the external side of the brake housing and unless a large amount have little effect. Anyway, I fix them by brake replacement and complete motor sealing as stated earlier. I even put a 1" wide strip of eternabond tape around the motor mounting joint to the gearcase. Power Gear sure earned all the negative comments on the design and then lack of service they provide.
I in-fact even built a remote control console that runs a individual jack from the battery direct showing current, polarity and position sensor function. I do know whats going on with it.... :) Don't ask me how much I spent on design and buillding it myself. :)
One friend got so disgusted that he went to HWH and paid $4000 to have his system replaced with theirs. He was kind enough to give me all the old parts for spares on mine. :)

RE: Scary situation--help?

Just a thought. It could have also been a brake dragging/hang up. Yep, no matter what it sounds dangerous. Good Luck with the fix... :)

RE: Can't move shift lever out of park.

Just to finish out this thread here is the info for the commonly defective brake pedal switch that causes this problem on Workhorse Chassis. It is available at most Chevy dealers parts departments.
AC Delco# = D895A
GM# = 25523463
I looked for this number for sometime before I found it, enabling me to get it from other than a Workhorse Shop.... :)

RE: How to attach a rock guard

I attached mine to the frame members in front of the hitch.
X2 If you attach it to the frame rails far enough forward of the hitch, you won't drag it off in pavement dips or speed bumps. The hitch can trap it to the pavement with damaging results.... :)

RE: Can't move shift lever out of park.

The common cause of your problem lies in the cruise/brake switch on the brake pedal. Crawl under there and work the white plunger while squirting a little silicone lub into it. If that fails replace the switch. I ended up replacing ours as I had the same problem and it came back after a while even with silicone. It really is quite easy to replace it. :) one of the switch functions is to prevent the shift from going out of park until you press the brake pedal, but if it sticks it fails to release the shift. :)

RE: Chair Removal

Looks like the standard recliner that Fleetwood uses to me. They are just mounted on a floor ring that is secured by a clamp held down with a threaded knob. Easy to remove..... You can remove the ring from the recliner and mount it on a replacement chair if you like. Pretty easy to adapt to it. :)

RE: Dometic Duo Therm Comfort Control 4 Button

Don't know your history with unit, but if you haven't tried pulling the fuse from the 12V supply circuit, that will sometimes reset the T-Stat. Some get buggered up by interferance from lights and other 12V items. It's a small computer, so reboot it... :)

Guess I am missing something here. Our E-mail address can stay the same anywhere in the world. Just needs an Internet connection to access it anywhere..... :)

RE: Battery / Inverter wiring .....

ok, but if I wire a inverter-outlet next to the regular outlet.. can i not split the refridge plug wire and put a togle switch in to switch back in forth from house power to inverter power without having to go outside and unplug and re-plug ...
Not sure what you are refering to. The refer can just be switched to manual so it is running on gas only lowering the 110 requirement. I didn't need any additional outlets to do my setup, except the one in the utility compartment to plug the shoreline into. I infact used a 50 amp outlet providing 110 to both L1 & L2 which works great. There are lots of ways to do this. Just my take on it. Yes, be careful to fuse anything properly that you add.

RE: Battery / Inverter wiring .....

I put my 1000W in the basement near the batteries. Then wired a 12V 100 amp solenoid switch to turn the power on/off allowing remote operation switches. The converter can be left on and the solenoid does the switching from any number of remote inside switches.
I also wired the 110 inverter output to an outlet in the utility compartment so I can plug the shoreline in to it when on the move allowing all outlets to be active. The problem with doing this is that you must remember to turn the fridge, water heater to gas, and converter off before you turn on the Inverter. Not a big deal and tolerable because I can use any outlet in the coach then. :)

RE: LED TV's and modified sine invertors

Used Modified-Sinewave for years no problems with one exception. Do not try to use a plug-in direct rechargable flashlight or other device that has no transformer in the recharge circuit. They will fry the electronics in the flashlight. I burned two up before I realized that there is a caution statement in the manual provided with my inverter. :)

RE: Water Filter

If you are talking the basic filter in the system from Fleetwood, it should be changed at least once every three months. I change ours on that schedule and it still gets pretty yucky. Make sure you scrub the canister when you change it everytime. :)

RE: heater core

Far as I know, Workhorse does not supply the heater core with the chassis for most coaches. The heater core would be supplied by the motorhome Mfg. :) Better look into the source of the original.

RE: Charging batteries while hooked up to power

I am looking at getting a Progressive Dynamics 60 amp PD 9260C
I just replaced my WFCO 65 amp with a PD 9270C and it works great. It took a day to bring everything back to normal and now all the batteries are right up to snuff. The WFCO units are terrible quality/reliability. :)

RE: Tansmission Warning Light- Allison

If you had the batteries out for an extended period the control computer may have lost it's memory. I would go forward with your maintenance plans and drive it some before giving up as long as it seems to be operating OK. The computer sometimes just needs to go through a new learning process as you drive for a while, if it loses it's mind... :)

Near your 12V fuse block/110 Panel. Hidden in back of them. Really don't know why they hide it there inside of the cabinets. :)
