RE: home made titan tripod jack extensions

The extensions that are made for those jacks are similar , minus the slot and clamps , just a slip fit . Did you feel there was too much play without the clamps ? At one time I considered doing the same but eventually decided to make an extension for the top that would also add the needed width for my dually . I'm all for DIY , form follows function .

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Replaced all three trans cooling lines, replaced emergency brake shoes, replaced back brake rotors, flushed brake system, front end alignment. You may also want to flush/change the power steering fluid as it also powers the power brakes on a diesel . Just a thought

RE: TC sitting for long time, how to put back in service?

It would help to know the brand and year camper you are working on . No ,it is not like an auto engine , no sequence , stuff either works or it doesn't . If they don't could just need a good cleaning or parts . How long did you run the frig , there is no noise and they take hours to cool down . In the TCU there is sticky by Netboy about installing an inspection port in the water tank that might be useful .

RE: Converting an older SRW StableLift into a DRW *PICS*

4xMike , sometimes it's hard to predict all the forces that will occur in this kind of project , that's why I mentioned it . If you have tried it and it works then you're good to go . Nice job

RE: Converting an older SRW StableLift into a DRW *PICS*

4xMike , Looks good so far , there is just one area I have some concerns, the straps on either end that go under the wings . I made some dually extensions for my 4 manual jacks and found that because they are eccentrically loaded the inner bolts are in a lot of tension and needed substantial backers so they would not pull out . Yours look like they are simply screwed to the bottom of the wing , I don't think they will hold up . In the original placement of the stablelift directly under the edge of the camper it was not as critical This is only my opinion and experience .

RE: refrigerator doesn't work need help

Once you determine the model number here is a good site with service manuals and trouble shooting. http://bryantrv.com/docs.html

RE: Avion camper rebuilds - dozens of photos

I'm a little confused about the fuse . Do you have an additional fuse panel that takes a screw in fuse ? The circuit breaker may be bad , check for power on both sides when plugged in . Has someone added a GFI outlet , it may be tripped .

RE: Avion camper rebuilds - dozens of photos

All the C-11 I've seen have a breaker panel on the back wall of the wardrobe , one breaker for the AC and one for everything else .

RE: Avion camper rebuilds - dozens of photos

Well thanks alot guys for your postings. While reading about your rebuilds I checked Craigslist and there was a C 11 here in town. Went and brought it home. Wife really isn't too happy with "that ugly thing in the driveway". But what a retirement project it could be. Every thing seems to work so far as I've able to tell. It even has a belt driven water pump. Go figure! Good luck with the C-11 , hope the wife doesn't wear you down , LOL. Post up some pictures of as-is . That belt driven water pump is probably a PAR pump , it was used in high end RV's and still used in the marine industry , parts are still available at mariners and online.

RE: Tell me about for camper and SRW truck

Hi, I have a 2011 f350 SRW shortbed with a 4 inch lift and 35 Inch tires. The rig a carry is a 2009 northern lite 8'5 q lite. That is the dream camper. I have also towed my 23' custom weld aluminum boat and it does awesome. My weight with a wet camper, wet boat and fuel tank of diesel is about 13,000#. Yes it is over the GVWR by about 3,000# but it is perfect. I have airbags, torklift stable loads and just be on the safe side a helwig sway bar. Amazing combination. It looks like you are counting the entire weight of the boat and trailer in your GVWR . For GVWR you should include the truck , the camper with gear/fluids/passengers , and the tongue weight only. If you include the boat and trailer it's GCWR . What does the 13000# represent?

RE: Upgrading DRW wheels/tires

I'll have to recheck the frames, but I know that the rest of the parts show up in the database as being the same. Yes, the 3500 HD was only 2WD and utilized a Rockwell "I" beam front axle. I changed my calipers and rotors last year and they were the same for both. I also know that they both used the G-80 rear pig. Engine /Trans options were also the same for "02 and "03 3500 and 3500HD. That is interesting on the brakes . The specs that I have seen said the 3500HD had 13.9 F and 13.58 R rotors and the 3500 had 12.8 F & R . Also wouldn't the 3500HD have 10 bolt and the 3500 have 8 bolt ? Which do you have?

RE: Upgrading DRW wheels/tires

Photog101 , you might want to do a little more investigation on the difference between a 3500 and a 3500HD . The HD has a reinforced frame , larger brakes , different rear axle, and different springs , along with the 19.5 wheels , to name a few. It was the predecessor of the 4500 and only came in 2wd .

RE: Upgrading DRW wheels/tires

I have to ask , what is prompting you to upgrade the tires and wheels on a DRW . The 4 stock rear tires probably have more weight capacity than the axle .

RE: Trip Report: Fairytale Towns in Lower Franconia (Germany)

joerg , thanks for the memories . I got to visit many of those towns in the 60's . I found some distant relatives in Wurzburg . They owned a small deli , I will never forget the lunch they provided that day . Beautiful region .

RE: Avion camper rebuilds - dozens of photos

What are you Avion guys using for LP bottles ? I know they originally came with horizontal bottles but can you use vertical bottles ? The regulator is setup for two hoses what size bottles are you using either vertical or horizontal ? I'm going to start my restoration soon and LP bottles are on the list as my TC did not come with them when I purchased it.It is a 1968 C11. The c-11's originally came with two horizontal 20# ASME tanks , they are 10" in diameter . I have not been able to find replacements with the correct length and diameter . A single 20# vertical DOT cylinder or a single 20# horizontal DOT cylinder will fit , but not two unless you modify the box . The DOT cylinders are 12" in diameter.

RE: THE HEAVY DUTY F150 HAS ARRIVED - First report ...

It depends what standard you think Ford set . GM's had a HD 1500 up until 07 with a GVWR of 8600# , same as 2500's use to be . Nothing new there , what is new is a turbo 6 in a full size truck .
