RE: power issues

Whats the voltage output of your house batteries when just sitting?? Thats really irrelevent because when he jumps from the switch to the soliniod(bypasses both) everything works sounds to me like the disconnect switch is pooched.U jump from hot side of it to hot side of solinoid and everything works.

RE: Residential refrigerators vs absorption

I have a Dometic sidexside w/a non-functioning ice maker. The dimensions are 33w x 25 1/2 deep. My outside door is 25 1/2"wide. What are the manufacture's and models that can come in thru the door. Have been searching high and low for a sxs that will fit to no avail. Do I need to take out the front window to install one?..Thanks Obviously U have a old motorhome. You will have to remove the passanger windshield.Do a search here for fridge measurments as there at least 100 posts pertaining to your question

RE: Diesel generator oil change interval

I thought I would ask here since many class A's have diesel gensets. I have a towable generator that is a light tower, and has a 3 cylinder Mitsubishi diesel. I usualy change the oil and filter every 80 hours, but I may be puting 100-120 hours on it before I get a chance to change it, as I will be on vacation. Will this hurt it? No

RE: Venting

...and the stuff isn't all that thick either. Maybe 1/8" thick (Just like the covers for the sink). It's not solid either. There's small places that it's not supported underneath at all. Drop something on it (like a frozen bag of ice) and it will chip. Then you'll wonder where the chip came from...until you drop another bag of ice on it and splinters go in all directions... like a spider web. Ask me how I know. Sorry but You are talking about a "different" product than the op.The OP product is a 3/4 inch thick as mine is and yes it scratches too easily and I too wonder wht will take the scratches out of it However dropping a bag of ice on what we are talking about will do no damage etc like I say too different products altogether

RE: LED Lights ??

Below is the link to the various 12V bulbs. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=g4+led+bulbs&x=14&y=14 I dont see any where its 10$ for 3 G4led This is the light that I bought. 10 cards with three bulbs on each. They match all of my 18 existing undercounter lights for brightness. http://www.amazon.com/pcs-12v-Halogen-Light-bulbs/dp/730000105X/ref=pd_luc_sim_00_04_t_lh yes but we are talking LED and the Bulbs u bought are NOT LED

RE: '11 HR Endeavour 43DFT or '11 Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH

"Tiffin is a better made product" is a completely bias and untrue statement. The Roadmaster TAG chassis in the Monaco coach that is being asked about here is superior to any Freighliner chassis. Drive the two and compare and make your own decision about that. I have been astonished at the poor workmenship (quality control) on several new Tiffins I have inspected at shows in the last year and as a result would not buy one regardless of the rep they have on standing by their product. I found myself saying "how did this get out the door"? That rep may be good but in my observation, you're going to need it. I will agree with you on the quaility controll also and found myself wondering how it got out the door also..I own a 2008 Bus and let me tell you I have had to do lots of renos and repairs.poor screw installs, screws missng,improper/inadaquite hinges+drawer slides Poor finish on stairwell, poorly designed front council/cup holder etc etc etc.Very very poor heat register locations for the aquahot etc

RE: Residential refrigerators vs absorption

My 22 CF Whirlpool is LIGHTER than the Norcrap it replaced! Perhaps you should have had the NORCOLD model instead as I do.They work very very well.Dont leave home without one seriously anyone that does any amount of boondocking or weekend camping or moving around alot really should stick to a LPG/110V fridge system/I know Norcold has had issues and i understand that But with the new shut down sysem etc I beleive Norcold is a fine fridge nowadays.Did eveyone quit buying fords after the pinto fires?

RE: '11 HR Endeavour 43DFT or '11 Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH

The problem I see with a full wall slide is fitting into some campsites. Sometimes you have to adjust where you park depending on trees, utility connections, etc. Just something to think about.... Not really.Take a living room slide at 16-18 ft and then the 8ft bedroom slide on the same side is really no different Utility connections are usually under 2-3 ft tall

RE: How many use wood blocks under there HWH Jacks

I do. The shorter the jacks extend the more stable the MR. Mine are about 8 in. high and 10 in. wide. Very heavy but very sturdy. Make sure you chock your wheels. Make sure you dont use those 8X10 spacers on anything but concrete type surfaces.very dangerous what your doing imho

RE: Thermostat temperature sensor locations

Regarding the wall thermostat that runs the dual roof air/heat pumps and the 2 zone hydrohot system. Are the thermostat temperature sensors just the ones in the ceiling (two in total)or does it(thermostat) also sence temperature just the same as a regular house one does? I finally got ahold of tiffin on this matter and the stat temp reader is just for temp reading alone. It does not turn heat/air on or off The reading from the stat is just as if its a wall thermometer seems weird to me though because U really cant go by the stat read out when trying to determine the current room temp readings from the remote sensors

RE: '11 HR Endeavour 43DFT or '11 Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH

DISCLAIMER: I am biased towards the 10 airbag Monaco suspension because of it's rock solid handling. Monaco was smart enough to buy up extra pre the latest BS emmisions standards engines and that alone is reason enough to go with the Monaco. I cannot beleive they are getting 380HP out of the 8.3 ISC engine although the ISL is just a stroked ISC but it puts out 1200 ftlbs. Well, there's three reasons for the Monaco. If I ever have to replace mine (because of a wreck) it will be with another pre 2010 Monaco tag axle DP. the 425isl cummins has lots of emmission stuff also. The muffler system is all electronically controlled.Very exspensive to replace. I like it though as there is no soot from the tail pipe and the TOAD stays clean.Very nice in that fact alone.(i have one)

RE: '11 HR Endeavour 43DFT or '11 Tiffin Phaeton 42QBH

Trying to decide between these two coaches. My wife fell in love with the floorplan of the Endevour 43DFT. The full wall slide really opens up the space. We have never owned a coach, so this will be our first purchase. Some things that I really like about the HR, are the bigger engine (425ISL vs 380ISC), no DEF system on the HR, Roadmaster chasis (good sales pitch anyway), and it is cheaper than the Tiffin. Tiffin seems to have a better reputation and possible resale? Any thoughts on things to consider or that we may have overlooked would be appreciated. Thanks, the engine size alone would move me to the HR.I have a 4 slide 40FT with the 425isl clean burn and the power is barely adaquite. so add 2-3 ft and go 45 horse and 250LB torque less? I would not! Also if your worried about resale U have to be crazy to buy new. Is the HR cheaper because of less options?I would thought it would be more as the engine package adds a bit of money to the HR over the Tiffin? if we are comparing options to options that is?

RE: Thermostat temperature sensor locations

Yeah it would help a bit to know what make. Many thermostat sensors are in the thermostat themselves. Mine has and many others also have remote Temp sensors(very common) What iam trying to determine is if it has a third one built into the stat assembly and if it does does it do anything other than tell temperature Thanks.

RE: Thermostat temperature sensor locations

What year and maker of RV? Do you know the brand of heating / AC controls? 2008 Allegro bus.I think its duratherm.(Forgot to look) Like I ask it has 2 remote temp sensors and wondering if the main stat assembly also contains a sensor? Iam pretty sure it does but want to make sure before changing things around

RE: How many use wood blocks under there HWH Jacks

Just wondering because My front jacks extend 3.9 inches and it fully exstendes and does not level the back jacks will not come down. This is on a brand new coach. HWH says that is how it is to work.I have 22.5 tires on a Sightseer and read that on the 2011 Ford that they raised the rail hight for the 2011 again. I also had it to the dealer and he called Winnebago and said that the have one spot on the frame to mount the jacks and it was the same if I would have ordered the 19.5 tires. I can still exstened the rear jacks in manual. When I first called HWH they told me that when I hit the auto button it should work. They told me to have the dealer to check it out . Now it is a different story and they want 1,300 dollars to put on a lowering kit of 2 inches out of my pocket. I think some one did not figuring the extra 2 inch in hight difference adding the 22.5 tires and the higher Ford Rail . What would you do . Total hight is 12ft 3 with the 19.5 tires and 12 ft 5 with the 22.5 tires from Winnebago. I have never seen HWH jacks that only extended 3.9 inches?Mine come out like 10-12 inches but really if they have a lowering kit available from the factory it sounds like they know about the existing problem and on a brand new unit it should be installed under warrenty. your dealer is really very stupid/dishonest if they are not on your side in this dispute

RE: removal of clutch fan

It can be done without radidator removal but we got lucky because our shop removed the radiator in the process. After getting it inspected and two seeps repaired we just when ahead and recored. There is NO way I would not recore a 1996 (today) based on what we found in our 1993 MH in 2007. Well if I was not going to be doing more than 100 mile trips I might just make sure it did not leak. By recoring and replacing the water pump and having the alternator rebuilt plus all new hoses and belts you can have a 1996 with a 2011 cooling system and look for another 15 years of NO cooling issues. :) well I guess that depends on mileage. If it has 15K-20K miles then none of your extra fixes really apply if it has like 60K-70+ miles then maybe one should look at all that

RE: Banks Power Pack/Stinger, 8.1 Vortec, 38 Ft Winn Adventure

I am looking at a used 2005 Winnebago Adventurer 38R, with an 8.1 Vortec and Allison 5 speed. 1) Is this engine too small for a unit this big?? 2) Can I tow a small vehicle behind or will it bog?? 3) Has anyone installed a Banks Power Pack or Banks Stinger on one of these?? Was it worth the money?? Thanks...Jim, Folsom, CA How many slides? what is the empty weight when run over the weigh scales? That makes it easier to give a reasonable answer Banks headers, exhaust, air flow systems work very well on chevys
