RE: Can I tow ANYTHING with a 3500 lb hitch limit?

I tow a Palomino G150. 3500 lb limit here as well. I do not tow with full tanks. Look up ultralites.

RE: Secuirty and Surveillance Systems?

I'm working on a setup so that I can get the temperature in the camper and see my dogs on my cell phone. The sharx camera above is the camera, Temperaturealert is the temperature sensor. But this is a technical endeavor. I put a server on the temperature alert which will get the video from the Sharx camera and push the video and temperature to a public server I have access to. Then my cellphone just has to connect to the public server and I can see what's going on. And it will send an email to my cellphone if temps get too high. Yes, I'm a geek. :)

RE: Secuirty and Surveillance Systems?

I recently got one of these cameras to keep an eye on whatever at home. Just used it to find out where some bunnys were hiding in my garage so they could be relocated to the outside before they got hungry. You can put in a micro SD card and get it to record for you. You can then use your computer to connect via ethernet cable (provided) or wirelessly (if you have a router). So camping you'ld use the cable. Easy to setup, easy to use, compact.

RE: Please....Tell me where to go!

There's Ausable Chasm in upstate New York. Take the boat tour of the chasm. Lake Placid New York, go to the top of Whiteface Mountain, walk through town.

Check for a plastic cap to your low point drain. Mine was put in the water heater access area.

RE: Banking while on the road

Credit Union here as well. My credit union is part of a country wide network. So I can walk into a credit union in any state and do my banking in person. Of course I also have online banking as well. I believe the network is called CU Service Centers. If your credit union is part of the network, there's banks everywhere that you can use in person if you want.

RE: Palomino Gazelle Reviews (Quality)

My Palomino Gazelle has no problems. Have only used it a few times and I store it inside. But I'm very happy with it. My first camper so I have nothing to compare it to.

RE: Mud season out west.

Mud season in Summit County, Colorado means all hiking trails are muddy, many restaurants are closed. Lots of renovations during mud season so there's less to do.

RE: Ipad or Android Tablet?

Android (Motorola Xoom) here. It does everything I want it to do. Web browsing with Flash support. Ridiculously easy to download/install apps. Most apps are free. I can view my security cameras via the tablet. Google has it's own Cloud. I can do ssh for work. Great app downloaded for lists (grocery, things to do, etc). Nice calendar app, shows the month with my schedule on it. TV Guide, maps, tip calculator, ebook reader, gmail, earthquake app. Absolutely love this device.

RE: White particles in water faucet

I recently read to put a gallon of vinegar in the fresh water tank, then fill up with water. Run the hot water faucet long enough to fill the hot water tank with the vinegar/water mix. Run all faucets for a few secs as well. Wait a few hours. Then drain everything and fill everything with fresh water (fill hot water heater) to get out the vinegar. The vinegar gets rid of mineral deposits. Hope I described this ok.

RE: umm toilet help

Calgon is a water softener. You can get it at Amazon if it's not in your local grocery or Walmart. Originally I could not find it in my store (laundry section), but I think it's because I didn't know what the box looked like.

RE: umm toilet help

2. Ice cubes in the tank while traveling will help clean it. Only necessary if there already is a problem. 3. use the special tp. I don't. Just don't use large amounts of tp. 4. do number 1 and 2 so liquid to solid ratio stays high and you don't end up with a big lump of solid. To not end up with too much solids just don't skimp on the water when you flush. 5. before a number 2 spray the bowl with cooking spray so not much sticks and it is easier to clean. Or you can just drop in a couple of strips of tp to catch things. 6. Flush dishwater and wash water down the toilet to help with solids and to not fill the grey tank If you're not hooked to sewar and your fresh water tank has larger capacity than your grey tank. What I want to know is about the chemicals and such. For instance: 1. What do the chemicals do? is it just to keep things odour free or is there some other reason? Calgon and Tide keep things slippery and not stinky. 2. if just for odours what about the "just a drop" stuff? 3. I read something about putting dish soap in. Isn't there an issue with suds then? Never heard of using dish soap. Tide has much less suds than dish soap. 5. is the dish soap in addition to the chemicals? Calgon and Tide are instead of chemicals. 6. Any way to dump once you get home instead of finding a dump station? Flojet macerator and a hose can be used to empty into your septic cleanout. Dump station is easier though. 7. what is prefered (cheapest and easiest)form of chemicals liquid, powder, tablets, or the little packs? Calgon and Tide.

RE: New Diet for me...

I'm on a different severely restricted diet. Aquafina is the best tasting water out there. I know, water is all I can drink.

RE: water system confusion

Are you sure it's not filling the water heater? Takes a while. You can hear the water filling the tank if you stand near it.
