vinyl flooring split ?!?

Does anyone have an idea of why our vinyl flooring in our travel trailer has split? Long story short...2008 Terry 32' winterized last year and just opened up the door to check it out and found that the vinyl flooring has split from the heat duct in the back to the heat duct in kitchen and then to the heat duct in the bathroom...what a shock!
