RE: WHAT TO DO IN NOVA SCOTIA

Spent several days camped along the Maine border and crossed into Canada to sightsee. One of our favorite crossings was to Campobello Island--visited the Roosevelt Museum there. Very interesting history about our US president in a jointly owned (USA/Canada) park/museum.
Styed near Shediac. Camped on the Northumberland Strait at Camping Plage Gagnon Beach. I was able to Kayak on the Strait and the next day at low tide walk out farther than I had taken the Kayak.
Camped in Dartmouth, near Halifax, at the Shubie Campground. We used this as a base and took day trips to the East and West along the coast. Peggy's Cove is a great sight. Good hiking trail behind the campground on an old north/south canal with well preserved locks and dams.
A good restaurant near Shubie Campground is MicMac Restaurant.
In Halifax we went to a dinner theater and a ship museum. Also toured a beer factory.
Wonderful trip and really want to go back to see more.

RE: Is Hurricane Low End

We bought a new 2007 Hurricane 34B (bunkbeds, 3 slides) in January, 2008. We have traveled 30,000 miles in it and pulled a dinghy behind it about 27,000 miles. When we bought the unit Four Winds was giving a 2 year warranty on everything in the motorhome and Ford gave the standard 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. I did buy and extended warranty that has paid for itself.
There were some problems (like any new motorhome). The company was very supportive and took care of everything in a timely manner.
I bought the unit through the internet from a dealer about 10 hours away. Local motorhome dealers have been supportive and Four Winds worked with the dealer to my safisfaction.
We continue to look at other units at RV shows but have yet to find anything we like better than what we have. I just don't see any great difference in quality between the other brands that are priced comparably.
For us the Hurricane has been a good motorhome with a good floorplan that is now being mimicked by other brands

RE: Convection/microwave or Reg. oven?

We enjoy the convection microwave and the extra storage drawers gained by not having an oven. Steaks and even fresh bread are easy with convection cooking. It just takes some practice.

RE: RV Tool Kit

Harbor Freight has a nice tool kit that I carry in the motorhome. The only thing I added was a hammer.
