RE: Tire Brands

Yes, I do use the BAL leveler, every time we go camping. Why do you ask?

RE: Tire Brands

Hi,
I have the Carlisle USA trail tires on my pop up. In researching problems with this tire and size 5.30 - 12, I found this thread.
I was going underneath my pop up today to adjust the brakes and found a 2" x 1" bubble on the interior sidewall of one tire and a nearly round 1" x 1" bubble on the interior of the other tire. These were both purchased two years ago. I have driven the trailer less than 2000 miles in the past two years. The bubbles occured in the same spot on the interior of both tires. The location was where the C rated tire warning is embossed on the tire.
I have always run them at the maximum pressure when I tow. The trailer sits in a carport and I push it back and fourth about 6" about every three months just to move the tire and move the weight over another part of the bearing.
I purchased these tires because they were USA made. I thought they would be better than the Chinese made tires. So, I paid @ $220 for three brand new tires with high speed valves and warranty protection.
As it is right now, I am perturbed as anything to pay as much as I did for tires I thought were the safest and best out there and USA made. I am however grateful, that the tires didnt' blow on our last trip in November. I purchased the warranty through American Tire and I have ordered replacements as the tire is less than 3 years old from the purchase date and shows very little tread loss due to the low mileage. I will contact Carlisle to see if there is an issue with these tires, but I am not expecting much from them.
While I have the warranty and the tires will be replaced, I am now not trusting of these tires any longer.
I will post my response from Carlisle later in the week.
Cheers
