RE: Calling all cooks -- I need your help

We have been using McCormicks (spelling) pulled pork packages called slow cookers. They are found in the spice section of the stores. Do the pulled pork at home, package and freeze. Reheat when dinner is almost ready. You can also do chicken in place of the pork - or do both. Add some cans of BBQ beans, and salad, corn bread and whatever.

RE: Slide out left out for 4 months

I would bring it in just to avoid the possibility of heavy weather getting to it. You don't mention if there is a cover over the slide but if there is wind can ruin the cover, if no cover water may seep in on the sides or top. JMHO!

RE: Replacing RV mattress

Great question. My hubby had back surgery and we need to replace the mattress that came with the RV. We were thinking of a sleep number one---anyone have one of these? Reviews are good.
WE have had a sleep number in the coach for seven years and will not give it up for anything else. Twice we contacted the manufacture once for new side foam and once for a new controller. They GAVE us the upgrades at no cost. Really like them.

RE: What do you think about Bounders???

We really liked our Bounder but it was not built for full timing. Also FW would not back the product, the outside wall was seperating from the inside bath wall. You could stand in the bath and look into the living room. No more FW in this lifetime.

new dog in town

Well, after we lost Sunshine to cancer we doubted having another dog but we just adopted another Golden Retriever from the Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue in Houston. His name is Banjo but DW likes Bange (Ban Gee) for short. He is 3 years old and was very abused. Right now his is DW's dog since is afraid of men but will come around. He is going to be the new travel partner.

A few years back we got one from CA. I called them and told them no money was involved and I was volunteering for the winter. Never heard back from them.

RE: rv cards

We have cards I printed form Microsoft Word and pass them out when we meet someone that would like to have our information. We did get a call from a campground that wanted to hire us for the summer (two years ago) and got our info from the card.

RE: Speaking of Crockpots...

We have been using the same one for so long we can't remember when we got it. We don't put frozen food in it and have not had any problems. We set it in the sink, turn it on and head down the road with a cooked meal when we arrive at the destination.

Canyons area

We are planning a trip that will hit the Grand Canyon, south and north, Vermilion Cliffs Monument, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park, and Zion. We received our “custom” trip map from FMCA and have been looking it over.
The question is: are the routes in that area suggested capable of handling large vehicles (40 foot MH with a Ranger Toad) or just autos/trucks with trailers? These are the roads off the interstate they have listed are 89, 160, 191 and one not having an ID number going to Capitol Reef National Park.
Also, there is no listing for campgrounds just motels. The trip will be from June to Aug. so I’m guessing a full hookup site for a/c.
Help campgrounds and routes appreciated.

RE: Woops bad rookie mistake

Mix about a quarter cup of baking soda into a couple of gallons of water and add it to the tank. Then fill the tank and run the water thru the system and let sit for a few hours. Then flush it out and you should be good.

RE: Top three mistakes you made in the first two weeks?

1. Letting DW move all her clothes
2. Trying to figure out AC vs. DC (still don't understand, don't like electricity).
3. Letting DW convince me we should take routes and streets and getting into dead end streets pulling the toad.
