RE: Boliy pro 3600si generator

Agreed, and rubber feet for tables/sofas with a hole drilled in them last a good long time and are a cheap replacement.

Good point - one of the rubber feet on mine hardened and disintegrated on our last trip.

RE: Slideouts move in, will not move out.

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses, I'm camping now with limited access so forgive me if I don't cover all the points in one go. I've got great voltage (2 newer 6V batteries), and it's more than enough to move the slideouts *in*, but the motor doesn't even make a sound or a buzz when trying to move them *out*. Nothing else is running and I'm hooked to shore power on half the tests, and standalone for the other half - no difference. :( I don't believe I have the bell housings you mention - but even so your idea of getting things started with the manual override and then trying the switch is a good one. I tried that several times while I was under the camper using an 18V drill to get the slideouts extended - I had my wife try the switch several times but again there was no indication that the motor was trying to move in that direction at all. When the switch is pressed "out", the click is from the Trombetta and not from the circuit breaker. I can jumper over the terminals of the Trombetta to try to force the motor to move - *then* the circuit breaker blows. I've even jumpered past the circuit breaker as a separate test and the motor still made no noise or effort in the *out* direction. The motor is clearly drawing some serious amps when trying to move in the out direction. I did use the manual override to move the slideouts so we could camp this last weekend of the season, thanks for the pointers :) I don't know enough about DC motors to be able to troubleshoot further - I'm guessing that it's possible for a motor to have one blown winding such that it will move freely in one direction but not in the other? A new Trombetta is $20 on Amazon.com, but it looks like $400 for a new motor/pump/Trombetta/tank assembly, as the rest of the parts aren't available separately :(

Slideouts move in, will not move out.

I've got a 2006 Sprinter 311BHS with two slideouts. They are powered by a Lippert (LCI) hydraulic pump unit. They will move in just fine, but they will not move out - all that happens when I push the switch is a loud "click" from the Trombetta (solenoid) on top of the 12V motor. I have replaced the breaker on the tongue of the unit (50A) and even jumpered across it as a test, so I know it's not a "tired breaker" problem. I have jumpered across the large power terminals on the Trombetta, and that runs the motor to move the slideouts IN, but when I jumper across those terminals to move the slideouts OUT, the motor does not engage at all and the breaker on the tongue trips. Before I tear into anything further, or spend many hundreds of dollars on the whole motor/pump/tank unit (apparently not available separately!?), does anyone have an idea what might be wrong and what repair/testing steps I could try next? I read somewhere the pumps and motors are made by Parker and that I might be able to get a replacement from them, but LCI only sells the entire unit for a *lot* of money.

RE: Boliy pro 3600si generator

Just a note to say my Boliy ran non-stop and kept our refrigerators and coffee makers and what-not running in the house during hurricane Irene and the aftermath. It paid for itself about three times over just during that stretch.

RE: Boliy pro 3600si generator

Had bad rectifiers on mine which have since been replaced but they were running down my battery when not in use. Was able to charge the battery using my craftsman charger but after the battery went dead for the 3rd time it needed to be replaced too. As a 'just in case' I installed a battery disconnect by changing the stop/run to a DPST switch (radio shack #275-015) so when I stop the genny the battery is disconnected. That's a sweet idea! As is the extended run tank, albeit a bit pricey for me. :) By the way, has anybody else wiped the dust off their fuel gauge, only to find that wiping even the lightest dust across that soft plastic turns it into a scratched/fogged/hazed mess that you can't see through?
