RE: Summer trip, any comments or recommendations?

Grand Canyon, do you want to be there or check it out and then move on? You have a lot on your trip, if check it out and move on AND you like trains stay at the Grand Canyon Railway park in Williams and take the train out. Doesn't give you but a few hours at the canyon but it is a nice relaxing ride out and back. Route 66 is a short walk from the park and during the summer they have old west shows on the main street each night. Check with the park and if you have AAA they have deals for 2 nights and the trip to the park. http://thumb18.webshots.net/t/90/90/8/77/18/2325877180010476538BAziBf_th.jpg 4 corners is more of a pass through not really a place to spend a lot of time, IMHO. Do you like zoo's? If so don't miss the Denver and Tulsa's was pretty good too. If you like hiking and checking out nature there is Arches national park in south eastern Utah. The area you are looking to cover is more like a 3-5 week and spend any time at each area. We did this several years ago when the kids were young, DW's grandparents and aunts and uncles are up in Vinita OK. We managed to run along 40 to OK and then took 70 back to Utah and 15 south. Easily burned up 2 weeks and only spent a day or two at each except OK where we spent 4 days.

RE: Anaheim, Ca. Rally April 13-15, 2012

Well we will be out but not coming in early. We will be coming from Palm Springs after being gone for a couple weeks. Cory needs to have his wisdom teeth removed so we are waiting to find out when for that. Hopefully that will be soon and then St. Patty's day we will leave for Portland to visit DD and take her more of her stuff that is still here.

RE: Norcold 1200 RIM Ice Maker

Are you sure the water is turned on to it? Ours the shutoff is under the sink with the water spigot filter.

RE: Considering a MH

When you say it has a 5K towing rating are you talking about the hitch or the motorhome? While it may have a class III hitch with a 5k rating that may not be what is left in the GCWR. One other one to be careful of you stated it had lots of rear storage, you need to weigh it loaded up like you were going on a trip. There is a strong possibility you will only 3-4K of capacity left. :( BTW I have a 228" wheelbase 22K Ford chassis in my 06 and only have 4K of capacity left to tow with.

RE: Help!!!!!! No power

TV's are usually run through the inverter, so as others stated check for breakers there and feeding the inverter. Ours has a built in transfer switch in the inverter that bypasses invert when shore power/gen applied. If feed cb is tripped, ours is next to inverter in mini breaker box, then no power through inverter.

RE: fuel problem

Have you had any check engine lights come on recently? We had a 90 Ford with the 460 and it turned on the check engine light one day. I followed the book turned off the key turned it back on and the light was out. No light for a couple weeks. Then we were driving the coast here in CA and hit a few of the gentle hills and the engine just died as far as power. Pulled to the side and it sounded just like starving for fuel. Turn it off and it would start right back up, but being in the hills now as soon as we started up a grade it would do it again. Got it hauled into a dealer and the cat was blocked because a sensor had failed, the check engine light, and sent the computer into limp and ran the engine too rich.

RE: Progresive Insurance

We have nothing but good to say so far, alweays wonder when you get a good price what happens when you need the coverage. Our only claim was with my son's motorcycle that he crashed. First words out of EVERYONE that called or spoke to us abou the crash was :"how is your son? Does he need anything?" His bike was not covered for collision and we still had someone at the house checking the bike out in 2 days. This was just shy of 2 years ago. The adjuster did all is work and then gave me cards for places to get parts or have work done if we were going to repair it. Couldn't be happier with the service.

RE: Forum Dictionary

It is not just the internet but many industries. When i joined the computer industry 30+ years ago for a competitor of the biggest source of TLA's, Three Letter Acronyms! IBM, Itty Bitty Computer company I thought don't you people ever use words? A few years later and I was just as bad as everyone else. Can't even blame it on texting, although a few have migrated from there LMAO, Laughing My A** Off! :B

RE: flooring

For installation in an RV, unless fulltiming, is what I would find as a possible problem. "FreeFit is an interior product only, and must be installed in a temperature controlled environment, maintained between 65 and 85 degrees F."

RE: I found this odd

This was one of the reasons my parents bought a cabover camper when we moved from MA to CA in 65. Campers were legal in all 48 lower states for passengers. As someone else pointed out crew cabs were few and extended cabs had not been created yet. For a 5th wheel you had to have voice communication between the people in the trailer and the driving compartment. We did this even though not required with walkie talkies. Read a couple of times on here where someone rode in the 5th wheel to go a short ways to another campground or campsite. Realized that the trailer was not designed for people to ride in and now knew why stuff not fastened down good got thrown around. Shall we say suspensionsion was NOT set up for a nice plush ride! :B

RE: Hot Western Summer Trip

Simi to the I 40 my preference, we live just beyond Simi in Camarillo, is 118 to the 405 north which merges with the 5. Take the 14 north to the 58 east, this is in Mojave. It will take you to the 15 just before the 15/40 split. Easier hills and avoid most of the LA traffic. If you have a TT membership there is a park out by Otay Lake near Jamala. They also have some sites available to the public, no you do not have to sit through a sales spiel in order to stay, just pay the nightly fee.

RE: New MH and question

Unless you want the original try van conversion shops, we used lots of varieties of doghouse consoles in vans over the years.

RE: Crater Lake National Park, Fort Klamath, Oregon

We were supposed to go a few years ago but it didn't open until July 5th. Then only partially, the rim road was still not open water was only on in one loop of the campground. As others stated all depends on the snowfall they get.

RE: alignment

The centering devices, steer-safe etc can mask the real problem, not fix it. Agree with above try a different shop, preferably a truck shop or at least a shop that is used to heavy vehicles.
