RE: Direct TV mount.

I mounted one on the roof near the ladder, put the dish on and point it where needed. That way it isn't a temptation for someone to mess with it.
Mike
Thanks, that was the way I was thinking as well.

Direct TV mount.

Has anyone put a 2" mount for their dish on their rear latter? I know I can use a tripod, but thought of putting it up on the latter out of the way.

RE: What's your rig(+toad) and what's your MPG?

1990 Class A Itasca 27RT, 454TBI 400 Turbo, pulling a 2200lb Saturn SW2 Wagon 4-down average at 60 MPH 9-10 MPG. Loaded or not. Seems to never mind. I have a good front angle so wind it not that big of a factor. That is why Im going for the the Ace by Thor, for my next MH in the next few years.

RE: Oil and transmission fluid change

I know the driveline takes a beating with the weight these chassis have, but the strain that is puts on them when pulling up on boards or what ever to get them level at times must be a killer. Motor mounts u-joints drive shafts.
But yes check out the modulator. There is an adjustment inside of the modulator itself, running the screw in decreases the effect of manifold vacuum. Play with it if you find no air leaks all the way up to the manifold area.. And if oil is inside the vaccum line that is a sign of a bad modulator as well. They are kinda cheap anyway. keep us updated.......

RE: Oil and transmission fluid change

Shifting hard? before doing the fluid change, check for a vaccum leak going to and from the modulator. Get a good GM book for the 400 turbo, and locate where the lines do route, and also note where the adjustment screw is for the shifting points on the modulator.

RE: Birds Parking on My Mirrors

Buy a plastic Owl, works great....scare birds away for sure! usually about 12 inches tall most hardware stores have them. Mount on a post or set it on top of the RV.
The birds out here sit on my owl. Good perch.
Birds are not that smart here in Ohio....lol

RE: Oil and transmission fluid change

If the fluid looks nice and red, and has no burnt odor, I dont think I would mess with it...I have changed a many of turbo tranny fluids and have issues after. Maybe hick thinking, but I guess I am from Ohio...lol
Do you have a transmission cooler?

RE: Anyone find moisture bad?

I checked it out the day after I found this moisture, and things were all dry again. The temp swing was so dramatic is what caused it. I did place a tower fan inside to keep the air moving. My vents are covered and my cover is breathable. For Ohio weather to be this warm in Feb, well now March is crazy!
Today it is 65 and rain.....feels muggy too.

RE: Anyone find moisture bad?

Is your cover fully breathable? It's a known issue with covers that don't allow air circulation.
Tyvek is breathable cover. I was lead to think the vents open would better keep things fresh. I will run a fan a few days, and close my vents for now on....

Anyone find moisture bad?

Just went into my MH to check things over. The weather has been mild to say the least here in Ohio. Temps were in the 60's today, when it was 30 earlier. A storm came thru heavy rain for 4hours, but my question is, I found water drops all in my screens on all 4 vents, which I have Maxx covers on them. And I have a full RV cover on the whole thing. My walls have moisture in the bathroom as if someone took a hot steam shower....lol,
I always keep my vents fully open during winter storage. Anyone else do the same? I have for the last 5 years, but I have never seen in this way. I havo no leaks, it is just wet around the vent areas. My ceilings are the original vinyl material. I know the cover will get hot with the sun. I guess the temp change was so fast...

RE: Winne-will not start

Replace both and be done with it!http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1994-Chevrolet-P30-Van/Fuel-Injector/_/N-jcr6lZ8vd08interesting that you expect both fuel injectors to fail at the same exact time.
If power and ground was good at the injectors.but no power at cranking.you need to pull the four pin conector at the distributor .With light conected to oneof the injector harness and a test light hooked to 12 volts prob the purple and white wire I do believe ckt 436 when you probe it should light the noid light. So if this is the case then the ignition module is bad..also check power cranking at 5 amp fuse in fuse panel.
If fuel pump, and filter are all ok...than replace injectors, i have had the same thing happen on a truck, with no start and spray into the throat would start for a few seconds.

RE: what toad

I have found that a Saturn SW2 may be the best toad for the money. Cheap, like 96-02 range from $2k to $3.5 easy. They can get around 38 MPG. Move 5 people, and a large dog. Only 2300lbs. They have a timing chain, NO BELT! Plastic bodies do not dent or rust. Parts are cheap. They were American made.
For that price, you can buy one for what you would lose by driving a new car off the lot!

RE: Dual receiver/adapter to carry bike rack & toad

Like above post HF has it. But you can make it, or have it made too.
I made mine, I bought the 2' receiver at Wal-mart. and welded it on top of my drop hitch. I have a 8" drop for my Blue Ox Acclaim tow bar pulling my Saturn SW2. I have 2x 26" bikes and I hang 2x 24" bikes from my Latter rack I bought at CampingWorld. I have Aluminum bikes so they are not that heavy.

RE: Tire age and cracks - my experience

I would almost bet that tire was heated like one said before from inside duals close, or that tire was on the outside (sun damage) before you bought it, and the owner switched them to cover it up........
