RE: Onan Generator aint Genning

Thank all of you so much. Will attempt to find those on generator breakers and switch. Any hints as to where they may be?
it would help a lot if we knew what Onan you have!
If it were where I am I would have included it is stored 50 miles away. It is green and we have a 30 amp 2000 Pace Arrow 35'.
my guess is an Onan and the breakers should be just to the right of the start, stop switch.
good luck.

RE: Kingdome roof top Satellite

I have a Winegard from Shaw Direct on my roof. Traveled from northern Alberta to South Texas and never had an issue. Takes about one minute to find both sats and works perfect. Friends that have domed units are always having trouble. Like the guy said "undo the bolts, cables etc. and push it off the roof"

I agree

RE: Just because there has been a leak....

i had some stains from a previous leak and got rid of them by using "straight" bleach in a squirt bottle. spray it today, no stains tomorrow.

RE: New RV'r...today!

I would set up in my yard and live in it and check everything out there. better to be close to home if you find a problem. it will not take you very long to get used to the set-up procedure once you do it a few times.

RE: F53 Flexible Brake Hose Replacement procedure?

now that is a problem that i would not want!
i will make a suggestion (and i am not trying to be a S A**)
if you cannot get access to the other side i would just hacksaw the hose as close to the frame as possible, then run NEW metal line to the location i could reach on the other side of the frame. you will just need a union to join to the metal line that goes to the master cyl. may need to fabricate a bracket to hold the new hose to the frame.
hope this helps you.

RE: F53 Flexible Brake Hose Replacement procedure?

Take it to qualified tech and get it done correctly, Brakes are not the part of a MH that you want to learn on. Your life and others depend on those brakes!
just sayin.

RE: DIRECTV DSN

Not that this will help you now, but, for anyone else reading this, don't keep turning it on and off. Just leave it on. No hassles.
It's DNS, not DSN.
this is what i do too, never tell them when i am on the road. if i want locals i use the ota ant.

RE: RUBBER ROOF "ADVISE"

Has the roof completely failed? Is it leaking? If not...
Clean it up good with a soft brush and something like Dawn dish soap, Murphy's Oil Soap, or Spic n Span.
Do not use a pressure washer.
Reseal the vents and seams with Dicor Self Leveling Sealant and or Eternabond Tape.
What I can see without detailed pictures of the seams is just a very dirty roof.
thanks all, no leaks at all, rubber is in good cond where i can see it.
i have the Eternabond Tape to put around all the vents and A/C. was wondering if i should put the tape at both frt and rear caps and along both sides at the seams the full length of the coach. all this after the cleaning and before the EPDM coating.

RUBBER ROOF "ADVISE"

need advise on my roof repair, as you can see in the pics it is in rough shape. whoever coated it before did a terrible job and it is blistered and pealing.
do i have to get "ALL" the old off before i can put down a new coating of EPDM? or just what comes off with a good "WASH". with pressure. i plan on cleaning all the vent and ac seams and putting the tape down first. gonna be a hellava job if all the old "MUST" come up first.
thanks for any advise on this project, bob

RE: Anyone dump their televisions???

DUMP the old TV'S . I did the same thing with mine.
no permanent TV in MH. I do have the king-dome on the roof, plus i carry a satellite dish for Dish network. when we go camping i bring one of my receivers with me and i have a 20" LCD that works on 110 or 12 volt. when we set up i just put the tv in a good spot for viewing.
don't watch much but is nice to have for rainy days. i can even put the tv outside when the weather is good. i will do this to watch a race.
not a full timer so a permanent TV is not essential.
