RE: For Want of a Nail

WOW! Sorry to hear of ALL your problems! I put a TPMS on my coach just last month and it sure does give me peace of mind! I hope all your future trips go better than this one did. But, then again, it was Friday the 13tha nd you said you won't do that again!

RE: Tire Pressure Monitors

I recently installed a TPMS from EEZRV and I am happy with it. Expensive? Yes! But then so is insurance! I consider it an insurance policy, especially for the toad since if thereis a blow-out back there I probably won't feel it. I also invested lots of money for a Steer-Safe and feel good about that too!

RE: Have you damaged your car while being towed?

So far (crossing fingers) nothing yet. I use a dolly and the thing I have done, twice now, is I forgot to remove the safety strap from the toad frame to the dolly. When I tried to back-up I would get stuck and then realize what I had done. No damage, except for a bit of my pride. Also, good to know that the strap is strong enough to resist me trying to drive off the dolly while it is still strapped down!

RE: What tire pressure monitor to buy?

Well, after a trip to Kentucky and back (about 900 miles) I really like this system. It is interesting to see the pressure increase while driving. I had to fine tune my settings and now I am happy where I have those. I would highly recommend the EEZRV TPMS system. I have nothing but good to say about their customer service and the unit does what I want it to do. No matter what brand you buy, I believe it is a must to add one more piece of mind!

RE: The old girl is back - where to start

Wow....the saga continues! I hope someone buys it and keeps documenting the Old Girls life as we all were consumed by the story!

RE: I have about decided to sell my Truck and Travel trailer

We really enjoy the comfort's of driving our Class A. My wife and son both have commented on how nice it is to get up, use the bathroom, lie down, get a snack, etc while cruising to our destination. The other thing I like is if we arrive someplace and its raining, we can park, deploy the jacks, run the genny and overhaed AC and relax until it settles down. I even go ahead and put the slides out in the rain with no issues, especially since I have slide covers. I point that out because when I had my TT I did have a couple times when I had to get the 'outside' stuff done in the rain and I didn't particularly like that! I have found that I can drive further in the Class A then I did in any of my TV's including my last one, a Ford Excursion. BTW, MPG's are about the same as the Excursion.

RE: What tire pressure monitor to buy?

I noticed the EEZRV system does not have a remote antenna like the TST does. I wonder how it works on a longer rig like mine. 4 door, one ton, long bed, dually with a 36 foot, triple axle 5th wheel. They do have a remote (booster) antenna: TPMS SYSTEM TRANCEIVER (BOOSTER) My RV is a 36 foot Class A and I am pulling a Town & Country minivan and do not need the booster. The EEZRV people told me when I ordered it that I probably wouldn't need it but I could always order it if I needed it. I think it would work with your configuration without the booster. So far, I am very happy with this system. I am currently on my first trip with it. When I am done, I will have driven about 1000 miles....not bad for a first test. Do you have them attached to your mini van? If you only have them on the coach then it wouldn't be the same thing as my rig. I think The rear tires on my trailer would be further away from the unit than your tires are and my signal would have to go through a lot more metal. Yes, I do have the sensors on both my dolly and the rear wheels of the van. No problem getting a signal. I bought and installed the ten tire system....6 for the coach and 4 for the toad! When you consider that the Town & Country van is about 16' long plus about another 4' for the dolly, that makes the rear tires of the van about 55' away from the monitor!

RE: What tire pressure monitor to buy?

I bought the EEZRV Products TPMS system. Programming was a snap. Sensors are accurate. I had a couple questions and when I called EEZRV, I talked to one of the owners who told me to call anytime, including weekends if I had any further questions. I tested the unit by removing a sensor and it sounded an alarm very quickly. I will report back later this year with how they hold up. Packaging was quite nice: http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/stugpanzer/Droid%20Thunderbolt%20Stuff/IMAG0776.jpg height=640 http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u171/stugpanzer/Droid%20Thunderbolt%20Stuff/IMAG0777-1.jpg height=640

RE: If not Silicone then what?

Excellent replies! I think I will just inspect these as I always do anyway and when it is time to redo them, I will use some of the suggestions here! Thanks all!

If not Silicone then what?

I used silicone to seal around some windows and when I installed my Cyclone Sewer Vent. I only just recently read about why I should not use Silicone, so before anything bad happens, I would like to remove the Silicone and use the proper stuff. But, what is the proper stuff? What should I use instead of Silicone? Thanks!

RE: What tire pressure monitor to buy?

I called eezrv yesterday and while asking them some questions about their TPMS, I told them that their system looked and sounded a lot like the TST 507 system and the guy said they are made by the same manufacturer. I think I might give them a try. The cost is a bit less than TST and I am willing to give them a go.

RE: Motorhome damaged in wreck. Need advice.

The time or two I have been involved in an accident, I always notify my insurance company so things can get started. They (the insurance companies) will hash it out amongst themselves in the end! Good luck!

RE: Emergency situation... how to get Rv back to Canada

Even if you can get it back, will someone be able to winterize it? It should be winterized prior to shipment, if shipped, otherwise plans should be made to winterize immediately upon arrival in Canada. yes especialy for travel through all those extremely cold US states also otherwize it will froze before getting home Driving it shouldn't be an issue as most RV's have heated tanks. But it would need to be monitored!

RE: TPMS Decision!

We are very happy with our system from Truck System Technologies. We purchased their 507 system and found it very easy to install & set up. One of our best purchases in 20+ years with a motorhome. http://www.tsttruck.com/RV_Tire_Systems.html or http://www.tsttruck.com see also the other link discussing TPMS https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/25743841.cfm Did you have to buy the additional repeater? Do you monitor the Toad too? (that's my plan)

TPMS Decision!

I have read so much about TPMS's and I just can't make my mind up. People have strong feelings about what they have. I do like the one that PPL Motorhomes sells. Anyone have one of those and can report back on how they like it (or not)?
