RE: Best name for a dog?

Had a puppy that ate everything off the floor, I wanted to name him Kirby, Dyson or Hoover, like a walking vacuum cleaner. I got voted down and he became Cruiser the Bruiser a 95lb German Shepherd. Now have a 65lb Shepherd named Travis the Twit.

RE: How close are you to your max GVWR and/or CCC?

The problem with this question is your assuming folks have actually weighed their rig, so many never have.

RE: JC Penney ad on TV is .....

I wrote to customer service and complained about that commercial. I was told I was the only one to write? You have to be kidding me. I said I disliked it so much we were going out shopping and I would guarantee that we would NOT shop at JCP. I then wrote again to let them know we spent just over $400 on our shopping trip and not one penny was in their store because of the commercial they were running. Their loss, as it is a nice store, but they won't be getting my money.

RE: Rear axle ratio 1999 Durango

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango Magnum V8 5.9 L engine. I found a towing guide that states it could tow 7400 lbs with a "rear axle ratio of 3.92" Where do I find information on what my axle ratio is? I looked in the owners manual and couldn't find the answer and also on the door sticker. Thanks in advance.
I had a 5.9 in my 1999 Durango and it pulled great, and I did have the 3.9 gear. Hope yours does too.

RE: TireDog Tire Pressure Monitoring System

trap: remember also: the sensors and/or the repeater (i dont remember which) will go to sleep after a period of no movement. they wake up after a bit of driving. might wanna keep that tire gauge handy...
If this is true, they wake up after a bit of driving, this would be a huge turn-off. I want to know the tire pressures BEFORE I leave a campsite not down the road a bit.

RE: Advise wanted!

The Pro-Pride is a great hitch and well worth the money. Slowly drag the trailer home and wait for the Pro-Pride to show up. Have a friend that started out with a lesser hitch and was not happy, ready to dump the trailer, then saw and bought the PP and is now a very happy guy.

RE: Mich CG where you can watch the freighters

Algonac State Park in Algonac, Michigan. They have river view sites that are maybe 150 ft off the river. Very pretty and nice place to go.

RE: real world pin weights

On a side note, some 5th wheels, especially those with 3 slides on one side, and one on the other, will weight up to 1000lbs more on the multi slide side and some RV'ers have replaced the springs on that side with heavier capacity ones.
This is normally true and most folks never even think about it. Good point....

RE: Mobile Suite

What we found mostly with the single rear wheel trucks that were hauling Mobil Suite trailers was they were over either the GVWR, or the Rear axle rating or over the tires capacity to carry the weight. DoubleTree RV came out with a lighter trailer called the Select, but now that has be replaced with an new unit. It is supposed to be lighter than a Mobile Suites.

RE: Replacing an over the range microwave in your 5er

Keep looking, they make smaller units and you should not need to hack up any cabinets.

RE: Tires and Rims

The 17.5 Goodyear tires will actually be about 1/2 inch shorter than the 16 inch tires & wheels you now own, so fitting under the trailer is not a problem. That tire will carry 4805 lbs @ 125 psi. You should not need to air them to that amount to carry your loads.

RE: Date of tire manufacture

I've seen on more than one occasion some China built tires with a date code showing 5309, they must have more weeks in a year there than we do???

RE: Hensley Arrow Service Info

When I had mine had 2 different people stop by the campsite over the years to ask questions about their Hensley they acquired with the purchase of a used trailer. I'm sure if you wander through a few campgrounds looking for a Hensley you too will find a friendly helpful mentor to answer any questions you may come up with. Also LOVED my hitch..

RE: Price of Hensley Hitch

Unfortunately so many people that say it is way too expensive and they don't need one have never towed with one. I towed my 25 ft trailer with my Dodge Durango that was so uncomfortable my wife didn't want to even go anywhere. She found the Hensley ad in some magazine and it had a money back guarantee, she said why not give it a try, so we did. She and I really felt the difference, after a test tow for our vacation, I said well, do we send it back and get our money back? She said only if I didn't want to travel with her because she was sold, and if she had to go back riding in the truck the way it used to tow she would no longer be owning a trailer. We kept that hitch till we bought a 5th wheel. I put the hitch up for sale on Ebay and resold it for a few hundred less than we paid for it after owning for 4 years. If we ever return to a trailer, I will look at the ProPride but one way or the other I will own a Hensley designed hitch.

RE: Gold Canyon Rv Resort & Palm Creek RV Resort Casa Grande, AZ

Just went to dinner with a couple staying in Palm Creek. She said she was worn out, they have so many activities she can't keep up. It is her choice, as she has found so many interesting things to do, unlike where she stayed last year without anything to do. She is loving her time here in Casa Grande. The wind storms are normally in the summer months.

RE: what can I find to do in the Phoenix for this week?

Drive down I-10 to Eloy Airport and watch the indoor skydiving practice, free and so interesting. Easy to sit there for over an hour and enjoy the beginners to the experts practice.

RE: bedinbox mattress

We bought one about 3 or 4 years ago for the trailer, love it. Then bought a house and got the same one for that. We did buy the bamboo mattress cover they sell and it has been on since day one. We feel it was the best thing we did for ourselves since we love to sleep.
