RE: New Green Golfcart

Why don't you buy a used golf cart for the same kind of money & in stead of peddeling just step on the accelerator!
This can be mounted vertically if I fabricate a hitch mounted frame on my motorhome, golf cart needs to be towed. I really don't want to do that.
And it is fun and cool

RE: Launching Boats with RV

Have seen it done but the RV'S rear stoarage area was in the water. If it were me I would have this on the trailer. http://xtend-a-hitchnorthwest.com/
That is awesome product, thanks for sharing. More like this will give you confidence.

RE: Launching Boats with RV

I have a winnebago view 23 H so there is not much of a overhang, probably a long hitch extension hookup only to launch and recover the boat I guess. I have to practice my backing skill as it is not all the good.
Good answers!

RE: Launching Boats with RV

How bad is it with rear wheel drive? What would be better, front wheel drive???? (I've seen front wheel drive cars "try" to pull out boats, making a racket with squeeling tires, unable to get the boat out).
I'm not quite sure what you are asking. The hardest part (for some) is backing up the boat. I have a rear view camera, so I find backing up the boat with my class c as easy as my suv.
The reason I said rear wheel drive is because of the traction in the water because of algie etc

Launching Boats with RV

My family has been tossing around with an idea of buying a boat, my main requirement is not to invest in a boat and just keep driving a near by lake and take a ride for couple of hr and come back home beatenup with all the work needed to tow, launch, and haul and clean it up etc.
I want to be able to take the boat with for a week in a RV to some new camping areas and use the boat to see the scenery and dock the boat and bring it back with me.
How bad is to launch a boat with RV since it is rearwheel drive? Any opinions, suggesstions and comments please.

Motorhome tradein and tax filing impacts

I bought an motorhome from a person and kept for 6 months and trade in the motorhome for another one. Tradein value for my motorhome I received was atleast 5k more than I paid but at the end of the transaction I paid 8k for the new vehicle. Is that 5k considered a capital gain and I have file as an income in my taxes and the tradeins are looked as entire transaction and not considered as income if I didnot take any money back.
Any information is appreciated.

Garage building cost

Hi All
Just wanted to get some ideas from you experts. I was estimating a garage 26' W X 28 L= 728 sq.ft with 14' high walls and 100 AMP electric service. The concrete driveway is about close to 100'
Total estimated cost for everything including garage door 14' W X 12' high is about 35K little here and there. This includes plumbing from primary structure to detached garage.
Is that a decent price estimate or too much or too low.
Any thoughts on this please.

RE: RV Garage Doors

Thanks for that info, I can only build 26x30' garage and my motorhome is roughly 24' and so 30' will leave 6' room for me. I asked rollup door, overhead doors quoted 8500 bucks. There was in another place in Georgia they want 3 k with revel cost and installion for one door and I have apnea more door to fits as well
I am confused for 26' wide, should I do just door or two doors,
Any information is appreciated

RE: RV Garage Doors

I would go with the 14 foot high door. You never know what the future might bring, and resale would be better. Probably at least 35 foot deep too.
Thanks for pointing it out about the 12' door thing, I would have made a big mistake. Thank again
Ganesh
14' door might be the way and I can play with truss to give extra height for rolling the door up.
Actually 12' opening will be too low because if RV climbs into garage in a slope, the height of the RV increases. Does any one know if there is a split type vertical door so open 10' always and open other 4 feet only when RV comes in.
Thanks again
Rgds.,

RE: RV Garage Doors

Wow, lots of good information. I am have 2007 Winnebago view 23h, Height is 11'9", 7' 8" wide and 23' 5 " long. My ceiling height planning is 14' and I am thinking of using some cathedral style roof so I should have more space on the top.

RV Garage Doors

Hi Folks,
I am very close to build a garage size 26' Wide x 30' Length. I want to park my RV sometimes in one bay and other one I want to put car lift so I can park two antiques. I am confused as heck to decide on the door, should I buy two size doors, one 8' tall and another on 12' tall or one big door with 12' tall. I am not sure if I should put residential garage door or roll-up commercial door. Residential door takes up room for the tracks but they are anchored so they are safe for wooden structure, but not sure if the weight of rollup can make the wooded opening lot weak.
Any ideas or your experiences please. I appreciate all your answers
