RE: Swapping to a Deep Transmission pan for my camper Hauler

I don't think there are any that come with an extended pick-up tube. Although I understand my F150 oem pan and tube as a 4wd is deeper longer than 2wd. Could apply to other vehicles to purchase a 4wd pick-up tube to go with your pan.
My PML works great on the 4r70w transmission, Mag-hytec on rear differential.
If you just want a drain plug you can get a bolt in retrofit plug at any decent auto store for $10.

RE: Best Solar panel price so far?

OK now I have this bugging me to look at panels. The ebay listing seems good but I don't need four panels 65x40 as I can only fit three.
So now I am looking at these for about the same price. $1.05 per watt.
http://www.solarblvd.com
Also they are close enough I can just pick them up, no freight charges :B Just sales tax.
I will end up with an MPPT either way.
Probably not the best in some way but I like the price.
Any red flags to avoid these?

RE: Auto Transfer Switch

Two input, one output. Instructions should be included.
Is this 15 amp, 30 amp or 50 amp?
Power cord and generator as input? Or is this an inverter install?
How do you transfer power manually?

RE: Parallelax 7155 - Can It Be Used with Honda eu1000i?

It will NOT power a IOTA DLS/IQ4.
I understand a 45amp IOTA is out but a 30amp IOTA should be in the zone???

RE: Parallelax 7155 - Can It Be Used with Honda eu1000i?

OP here (again - the beater of the dead horse!)
I recently bought a new battery charger for the van. It's this one:
Schumacher SE 1275A
Product Description
This automatic onboard battery charger is a high output portable charger, is completely automatic, and great for professional mechanics as they can be used for deep cycle batteries. Its 75-amps helps engines for emergency starting and the 12-amp fast charge helps to charge a battery in 2-5 hours. The 2-amp trickle charge charges a small 12-volt battery in 2-12 hours. It includes 2 LEDs which light up when the battery is fully charged and a 6 function rotary switch prevents overcharging of batteries.

So, maybe the better path for me would be to hook the Honda up to this charger and then the charger directly to the trailer battery???
This charger also has a switch to choose from SLI (?) batteries to Deep Cycle batteries.
Could be faster but that will work fine if the 7155 somehow overloads the H1000. 12a into a single battery is a decent charge rate although you could go 15 to 20 amps per battery. Not to exceed 40 amps total due to generator limits.

RE: Parallelax 7155 - Can It Be Used with Honda eu1000i?

Test it before the big trip. Run the battery down slowly to 12.0 volts and give it a go. There is a fair chance it will work fine.
Honda 1000 is a far better generator than 7155 is converter. I would trade the 7155 to a 30amp IOTA long before I sold the Honda. Possibly just use a portable battery charger if somehow the 7155 overloads the Honda.

RE: water heater drips

Get a new valve at Home Depot etc and install it.
Yes depressurize and let the thing cool overnight.
Get an expansion tank to permanently have an air pocket. Sureflow makes a small one. Or get a big one if you have the space.

RE: Battery Cutoff

Are you saying it is 0 amps and then just as you shut off the battery disconnect the amps jump up to 130 amps?
Otherwise the inverter 12v connection is not routed through the battery switch. Turning off the battery switch does not disconnect the inverter. The two systems have separate connections to the battery.

RE: Which is better: Higher or lower volt solar panels?

So if 4 panels are in series and one is shaded....
Will it harm the shaded panel to pass through the power?
Will the loss be 25% or even more? How much more?

RE: Electric water heater causing various breakers to trip

You can also try swapping the hots between two breakers of the same rating. Swap the WH with the converter/fridge for example and see if things are different.

RE: tank sensors as in black tank

I only worry about the FULL indicator. As long as that works I am fine. I just don't need to know anything at 22%, 47% or 71%. I can about guess the progress. Usually the grey fills first anyway so I drag it over and dump all three tanks.

RE: HELP POWER ISSUE!! AND ITS COLD

A 10+ amp automatic battery charger direct from pedestal to the battery will keep the propane furnace going all night. Might need an extension cord while at walmart getting the charger.

RE: Roll-up thin solar panels?

I look forward to when this is standard roofing material for RVs as well as homes. If they could make an 8' wide panel to use in place of our rubber roof I would be all over it. Even if some was lost due to the protrusions I think it would be worth it. Especially if re-roofing anyway or factory option so you are not paying twice.
