RE: Any suggestions on selling RV

I sold my last one on this free used rv classifieds site. CL is full of scammers and spammers plus your ad gets buried quick. Just my 2 cents.

RE: 2008 Expedition LT Tire Pressure ???

Yes...the rim is within spec. I made sure I looked that up before I purchased. The tires are a smidge bigger than stock in terms of width. I was expecting a noticeably lower profile with the 65, but it does not "appear" any lower than the 70 that was stock.
At this point, I think the non towing pressure will be happy somewhere around 35psi.
As for towing, I will try and keep them at 45psi. My biggest issue is, I don't have enough tongue weight on the trailer to push down on those tires. Even with my weight distributing hitch disconnected, the back of my Expedition only squats 1 1/2 inches, and that's with 100lbs of propane bottles and a battery. The trailer wheels are almost centered on the unit. Next trip, everything goes up front.

RE: 2008 Expedition LT Tire Pressure ???

Did a test tow today with 45psi. At such a low pressure there doesn't seem to be much difference between P and E rated tires in terms of "feel", both towing and not towing. At 45psi the edges of the tires are barely touching the ground. I would like to stiffen the sidewalls with more pressure, but the tires will essentially be riding on the inner treads, which makes it a little squirmy

2008 Expedition LT Tire Pressure ???

Today I had a set of Michelin MS/2's LT 275/65/18 installed. The guys at the tire shop put 70psi in them, which is to much for non towing driving. I am wondering what pressures you guys run in your LTs on the Expeditions or F-150s while towing and not towing?

2007 Trail Lite 8308S - LP Cover Wing Screw

I am starting to run out of ideas as to wear I can get a few of these wing screws. Tried the dealer and Monaco and no luck. Anybody have any ideas? Monaco gave me this part number HDW0396. I Googled it and came up with HDW-0396 : NS 3/8-16 X 1-1/4 CFL STUD

Adding Strength To A $300 LP Tank Cover

Due to the shock of paying $200 in shipping on my flimsy new LP tank cover, I decided to try and find a way of making the new cover last longer. The original cover cracked when taking a 30 mph cross wind. I was thinking of applying ABS cement (assuming the cover is ABS plastic) as an epoxy to the inside of the cover and laying down fiberglass mesh cloth. I would probably start with a layer or two and see how it worked. The cover sides are flexible, which prevent them from cracking when tightening the thumb screws to attach the cover to the trailer. My main concern is that I will lose that flexibility when everything dries. Is there a better product or idea out there that I should be looking at? Below is a pic of the cover.

RE: Trail Lite Molded LP Cover

Well this is what I learned. BUYER BEWARE! Monaco never quoted me a shipping price, and I never asked because I remember reading somewhere that it would be $50 or so. Perhaps the folks that need a cover or anything else larger than normal can arrange their own shipping with another carrier besides UPS. Below is my scenario from the UPS website.

RE: Trail Lite Molded LP Cover

****** UPDATE ******
I finally got around to ordering the custom LP Tank cover for my Trail Lite. The part was back ordered, so I had to wait an extra two weeks or so, which was no big deal. While the cover was not the right color and did not include the fasteners I was still happy to see it. The shipping box included a packing list for the amount of $112 just like they quoted me, plus shipping. Two weeks later I get the credit card bill. The amount for my $112 cover is now $315.00!!!!! I called Monaco for an explanation. They told me that they deal with a third party shipping company and that they pass along the charges. They broke the charges down to $50 to put the cover in a cardboard box and $150 to ship that 22 pound box via UPS GROUND to West Palm Beach. Monaco is going to contact the shipper for a better explanation of the charges and hopefully work out a a more reasonable deal.

RE: Dicor Lap Sealant - Proper Application Technique

Do yourself a favor and use Eternabond tape instead....never caulk again
I did a lot of reading today...Eternabond seems like a better soulution. If done correctly, it will be a wiser investment.

Dicor Lap Sealant - Proper Application Technique

The caulk on my roof is 5 years old already and needs to be freshened up. I do know that before I apply the new stuff, the old caulk needs to be cleaned. I also would like to cover all the original caulking. I have never used "self leveling" caulk before and was wondering the correct way to apply.
